Well its taken 2000 and something days well lets just call it 5 years and not be picky to get to our PS3's but it has finally arrived...

Last night i was lucky enough to grab a copy of GT5 (my wife rocks) and get stuck into it...

After a long hour of Loading the 8 gig of data onto the PS3 GT5 was ready to rock!!! (it saw the deletion of various demo games housed on my hdd but nothing was getting in the way of installing GT5)

The intro to this game is just fornominal... I'm sure by now it will be smashed all over youtube but the creators have gone to the extremes from the word get go!!!

My first view of the home screen was impressive it had a neat yet complicated layout which you just knew this was going to be extreme. With so many options on one dashboard there is no way its going to be all over in a week....

The first and most basic licence seemed to be the obvious starter, get a feel for the cars the game and the track.. I have been playing GT5 Prologe for quite a while now and GT5 just blows it away. The detail on the dash within the cars and the track themselves are just something else. Moving along we get to some S turns to pass another licence test. With GT5Prologue breaking mid corner was never a sin... It would possibly put you into some form of understeer but nothing like GT5... I think real life disaster would be the best way to describe what happened to my car as it pinned me off tail first into a wall... (please no reminders)

I'm currently sitting on Level 7 with what looks to have an exciting 24 levels of Licence.

Having a quick look over the car list its impressive. There is a live used car section with everything from the cheap to the classics.. The used car section offers cars with low km and also those with high km. The maintenance division provides oil changes to engine rebuilds... All that you would expect from racing a car..

I give GT5 the thumbs up!!!!

Also paid $77.97 at Big W Southland, last one they had left on the shelf so was happy to get it. Couldn't go earlier in the morning like I planned so very happy I found a copy, would have been very angry if I didn't get a copy today.

I'm installing the game right now, taken about 30 mins so far. Was hoping to have a play before I go to work in another hour but looks like I'll have to play later tonight unfortunately! Lucky I'm a very patient person :bunny:

I already picked the first few cars I'm going to buy in the game, how sad is that?

I had a problem with mine starting up. It just says "accessing HDD, do not turn off whilst HDD light flashing etc" Then it shows an [OK] button to click on but nothing happens and you can't click on it.

Turns out it is the DJ Hero turntable receiver. Unplugged it and works fine.

Apparently same problem with Guitar hero and other USB accessories.

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
