Yep strong motor, so more revs, as we were hitting the limiter on the start-finnish line, more power, less weight as still has factory steel tail gate and glass, then carbon wide body kit, so should be under 1100kg.

just comparing times to get some perspective on its pace is a perfectly natural thing to do. Eg people compare Porsche Cup to V8 Supercars, or F1 to V8 Supercars when the McLaren came to Bathurst... its not saying the cars are similar or in any way related, its just interesting to compare thier times to get somperspective of their relative speeds.

next, people will be saying its silly to compare times from different drivers.

Harry, it was the way the comparison was worded, esp this bit!

Dattos smashing Porsches, they can run but they can't hide

anyhoo, we all know if I drove the MCA car it would have done a 1.24

It was quite quick, but, oh my, the noise.......

what'd you say? can't hear you my ears still hurting. fking 3 days of loud cars done hearing damage. being at the top end of the garages in #1 didn't help either as cars are still at full noise when they come past us. much better down the other end when they are off the gas and braking for T1.

Hankook TD Z221 are the go we went from 1min 39.0 with old R888 to new soft Hankooks and ran 1 min 35.23.

Beer Baron I think next year Mark Berry might really be close to the fastest next year, once he lightens it with carbon fibre and more.

thanks Johnny. I think so too. as I said mark had a choice. finish the aero perfectly and totall miss the event, OR do a quick 'mark 1' version and get that thing on the track. he chose the hard option which was get it to the track which meant the aero was not 100% complete (still has more stuff to add which you know about) and was made in fibreglass and made super strong (as we had no spares and couldn't afford it to break). not sure if you lifted the rear diffuser or any of the new bits but they are super heavy. very effective though. unfortunately exhaust heat warped the full flat floor which saw aero go out the window on saturday and no way to get it back meant we were up against it to go any quicker than we already had.

with the new turbo set-up (200hp+ more), more refined and lighter aero and some actually testing time the car will go many seconds quicker. I had always wondered how on earth we would ever get the car to do a 1:30. now I honestly don't know where it will end? 1:28? 1:27? even a 1:26???? who knows. but we were second aussie home this year behind garth walden (who I foolishly helped out on friday by translating his aero set-up questions for him to the voltex guys... I got him some good info on the set-up then he went out and beat us! last time I help you Garth!

so yeah we are not as far off the front as it might seem and I know Mark wants to win...

What a weekend - Didnt sleep between day 1 and 2 bc of a overheating issue. Realised this only when we intoduced revs and more power to the car for the event and it then went backwards.

Had to pull the car in as soon as i hit the back straight on my hot lap as temps were peakin. Took the car to the workshop and did two headgasket changes in the one night. The first gasket supplied was the wrong size :(

Thanks to Bozz for a fine steer under very strict conditions (you have 3 laps good luck :P - 1:39.3680) as we set the car up into LIMP mode, where it would cough, splutter etc to prevent any damage to the motor if the vitals were upset (thanks HALTECH) The car felt slower then the 340awkw that we were practicing in :( very excited about the future of this car and thanks to everyone who helped over the weekend!!!

Nicely done and congrats on overcoming your dramas Steve!

I walked down to turn 12 for a gander and was lucky enough to see your car circulating. It sounded and looked absolutely fantastic, I had no idea it wasn't exactly how you wanted! :)

It was squatting something fierce in the rear end coming onto the straight, which added to it's look of fast :)

Which model Hankooks do you know?

I've just ordered a 2nd set of 20" rims so I can do some meaning full back to back testing of the different rubber available.

Ventus R-S3 (for clubsprint..)

which "tuned porsche" is faster than the FIA GT3 spec car?

It would be good to see a no limits Porsche built for Superlap, but I can't really see it happening.

I would love to see this car next year, the itsfun3 Porsche

It's a Advan supported car, so it would make sence to bring it over

Whats all this "we" this and "we" that Baron. The only thing I saw you do all weekend was stand around like a spare prick at a wedding. :nyaanyaa:

sorry boss I will try and look busy next time you wander past. :domokun:

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
