who made that exhaust for you?

Looks good but I don't like those round resonators in the centre position. They really need a smaller one or 2 like the Legalis or an oval shaped one.

no worries :)

so why would i be sitting on 15PSI then???

do i need to go an buy a boost controller ??? :(

anyways ill put up pic's later of the new system :)

I think there's some variation in factory boost levels, eg my RS should "only" run at 12psi (or 12.6 to be exact) according to most sources, but my Pricol gauge had it at 14.x psi (dropping off to 13psi just before a gear change) on the stock exhaust. Now with full turbo back system it occasionally runs of the scale (15psi gauge only).

A typical boost controller won't let you run lower boost than standard. I think you will have to play with wastegate actuator springs or the like, to achieve that.

yep your right.. rs was 12 psi and axis n ARX were set at 14.6.. i think to pull the extra weight

Penrith City Exhausts did the work, he's worked on all my cars and a few of my mates....... does a top quality job!!!

Stock rear muffler?

yeah stock muffler atm i wanted to see how much better it was and how loud it was before we desided on a rear muffler......... probly gonna go for a EVO X spec muffler with custom twin tips.

In the link in iamhe77's signature about 2 posts up :P

lol cheers :)

with the new exhaust i noticed whilst goin up a hill in 4th gear at 2500rpm im now hitting 16PSI steadily......... not sure if i should be worried

  • 2 weeks later...

19x9.5"? Lol, what size?

20X8.5" could get the 9.5" for the rear but i thought it would be better not to...........

gonna see how they fit on the car if i'm not happy that they fill the guards ill reconsider

also i'm told they will be skyline offset, R35 im assuming...........

If your offset is +30 to +20 you'll kill it, they'll look nice.

the skyline offset i was told should be +30ish....... and if ours is +20, then the wheel will sit furthur in the guard rather than out.

anyways im ordering coilovers while im at it............. pharck i need to get kickin on the overtime LOL

Your AXIS rims are +30 offset, so they'll go out 10mm.

Only if they are the same width rim.

Aren't Axis rims 8" wide?

If so, they should stick out ~15mm compared to the Axis rims I think

You're right ; forgot the new ones were 8.5"

Axis are 18x8"

Yeah 16.35mm  , so the guards will need a roll, but not very much. Depends on tyre width.

Dale ya reakon i can get the wheels milled down 10mm ? know anywhere that might do it if need be ???

Ok, sorry I must be missing something here. What offset did he say these things were?+20 or +30?

I had a quick squiz on the net, and could only findthose wheels in a 20x8.5 114.3 in a +35 offest. With a 120 PDC they come in a +20 or +40. Not saying there aren't more options, but thats all i could quickly find.

So, with a 20x8.5 +35, you will have 11mm less on the inner, and extend 1mm further out. No need for rolling or anything if it clears on the inside.

I'm sorry if i'm barking up the wrong tree, its late, but I just don't want him to be thinking he's going to be rolling guards/shaving wheels...

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
