they do serve a purpose

looking f**king mean

+1

Don't forget there real name either....."Rub Guard's" for those times when you have to run a stupid f#$ker off the road but don't want to scratch you paint!!!ph34r.gif

this is the reason why I bought an ARX - when I get the $$$ i will get an axis front bar and rear skirt

If you aren't going with the FRP kit, you may be quite surprised when you find out how much Nissan charge for the bonnet ornament (and it's backing)

On an ARX?

I think you are confused.

On an ARX those flares look as good as they do on this

Ooh yeah, real mean.

hahaha cam even that holden looks more mean than your princess blue coloured animorph whistling.gif

haha, but I am not the one that thinks or is trying to persuade others that their car "looks mean", am I?

Funny thing is that even if you colour-code the flares, you still have to deal with the gay old man, tan leather that is inside the ARX.

Unfortunate, but true... ARX = ugly inside and out

Sounds like venting on C34's has taken a turn onto ARX vs RS/X !!!

I think ARX plastic fantastic look odd. The Mrs agrees "plastic wings..." she reckons.

They peel off at high speed, they make your rims look gay cause of offset fail, and attract people to bump into them.:P

come at me NA brah! lol

FlAir= needs more aggressive offset. Doing this right = win. Doing it wrong= car wil look like a spaceship

Has anyone got pics of an ARX with guards bumper, skirts etc colour coded? I was thinking of doing this at some stage but didn't know if you would have to put some sort of primer on first to smooth out the "texture" and whether it looks OK or not.

Also what offset is aggressive? I am looking at some wheels (down the track) 20x8, they come in +30 or +45.

AND by the way. the tan leather of the ARX is the best part!!!! It's why I went for an ARX....... then again, I am old (not in my 20's anymore)

Rudy, (can't remember his forum name) colour coded the body moulds on his silver ARX, saw it when we were at Eastern Creek Drags a while back; works quite well, but his flares were not shiny because of the textured surface of the plastic. You'd need to do a fair bit of Hi-Filling to smooth the surface to give an nice gloss.

As for offset on an 8" rim, you want +30 offset at absolute minimum. You could go +25, even +20 offset on an 8" rim with a 245 wide tyre, without any clearance issues or guard rolling.

theres a white one going around but it looks like ass. failed attempt i think.

I think it's really dependent on colour; Black would work fine, White; a bit like a fridge. Silver looked ok, but I've seen a gold one, and I'd rather poke out my eyes than have to look at it again; bloody atrocious! Also as others have said, you'd have to butcher the bodywork underneath the plasitc so you can get the wheels out far enough to fill the guards properly.

Lol....nothing wrong with my offsets NA boy!!!!.... Fill the guards quite well actually.... My offset would however look shit if I didn't have the rub guards.....lol!

And what's all this ar-x jealousy from the guys that own poverty packs all of a sudden!:P

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
