is it heavier in the back than the front? is that why you reversed it on the trailer?

It is actually the only way the car will fit!! It is too wide at the front to get onto the trailer. With all of the tools/gear loaded onto the trailer and with the rear mounted gearbox, the trailer is very well balanced in this configuration.

Its very hard to have expectations, but we would like to be sub 1:33's but we have zero experience at EC with this car. I guess that is half the fun! :)

1:33 is seriously quick & in fact quicker than aust superbike class :)

do u plan to take it to wakefield as well?

Being Brisbane based, it is hard to travel interstate to track days, especially as Mark (the owner of the car), is VERY busy professionally and has 3 kids to boot. I think we were lucky to get him out of Brisbane for WTAC!

yeah it's impossible to predict times for a first event of a car. I'm sure they'll just be happy if it runs cleanly and comes back with some good data on where to go from here. it could do a flat 30 or it could be a flat 40.... only one way to find that out. :)

I would pay good money for it to do a flat 30! Might be necking myself if it does a flat 40!!! :P

Below is the results from last year so will be interesting to say the least. There were some big names in the 1:35 plus area so only time will tell.

i have been told when loading a car onto a trailer not to put it backwards.

due to 80% of the weight being behind the axle.

other than that epic, and i cant wait to make the trip over there tomorrow!!

R35 is a bit different to most cars. particularly a track R35. don't forget they have a transaxle so lots of weight in the rear and consequently less weight up front. and don't forget they balanced it further with tools etc. but the point is if the car only fits backwards, you put it on backwards.. I don't think driving it to sydney was an option...

agreed. I reckon if they break a 35 for their first big event that will be a massive achievement. anything past that is gravy. hell under a 40 is a big effort.

Given both cars (R35's) are basically just built and untested if they can beat the High Octane R32 they will be doing very very well IMO.

Both these cars are amazing bits of gear - but I think they will still need a few more miles under their belts - and a bit more tweaking - before their true potential can be realized. I don't think bolting them together and just doing 1-2 days testing will quite get them there yet.

But anything under a 1.40 will be a really great effort.

No doubt this year will be a massive learning year for them both - and look out seriously for them in 2012.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
