I'd say its all about drive line. When you look at (I know you already would have...) Craigs vid of his stall launch, you can see the punishment that it cops. However-

I think the more and more you guys find out about the VQ25det, the more I see that nissan have choked it from factory- Intake pipe, THAT dump pipe, the throttle, the untuneable computer etc etc.

I think that they would have had a situation on their hands if these stageas started cutting in on their sports market. I mean, it doesn't take much for a Stagea to rip a CPV35 or a Z33. Wouldn't be a good look for Nissan to see the Wagon passing the "sportscar" down the highway!

YES ! I agree & continually thank Nissan for designing an engine that was too good for it's intended purpose and/or market. It means one only need spend a few thousand to remove the breathing restrictions & some electronic ones & it turns into a completely different animal. Maybe the engine guys misread the memo & thought the car was going to weigh 3 tonnes, not 2, & designed it accordingly, lol.

Or, more likely, one of them wanted a Stagea and was making it easy on himself for later. In any case, way to go boys :worship: .

Anyone interested in this again? I would like a re-map as I'm not getting any of the tards in this state to touch my car with an emanage. Do you still have the Japanese translating contact Ryan?

Get on it & report back with your solution.

Good luck.

Sorry Rich, the translating contact was through someone at work who is on maternity leave, so not easy to get them to pick it up.

The guy at G-Zone speaks little to no English. If you're really dead keen, I'd get Jesse Streeter to do the gophering for you and just pay his commission The Japanese lady who was doing the translation for me didn't understand cars, and that made things much harder.

I've gone F-con myself, there are a few other benefits to going with something like that. But is there really NO ONE in Tassie you can trust to tune it?

What Nismo ecu is this? It's difficult down here as no oe that I know of has tuned E Manage and there are only 3 or 4 dyno's I know of.Getting on the boat makes it a very expensive exercise in the end.

My mate has a 2012 wrx sti.

He got a tune for his car online for $100 includes data logging sent back to the guy to adjust it.

Life isnt fair.

Mail order tunes are shit no matter how much data logging you do.

    • I thought Australia got rid of the "drag dodgy fuel up to 91 RON with ethanol", which is why all E10 advertise as "up to 94 RON" ? Anyway I put E10/91 in the missus' Mazda because she empties the tank weekly, when all my cars get 98RON. tl;dr - turbo - 98 RON, if you can't afford that, sell it and get a commuter car (or tune your car for 91, which no one does).
    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
