Oil And Filter M35

Altessa: as above.

Diff: I used a red line light wheight shock proof.

do the transfer case as well and use the matic j or Nulon ATF stuff

Slightly off topic but kinda still on...

What do you guys use as far as the rest of the fluids? My M35 will be here soon and I plan on giving it a big service so I know where I'm at but just looking for advise as to what peopl run... Engine/Trans/Diff/Altessa?

Altessa and Power steering: Nissan Matic-D

Diff: Neo Diff oil.....or the good Castrol stuff (If you have V-Hicas you will have a limited slip diff....make sure you use the correct LSD oil)

I do indeed have a V-Hicas, can I assume only the rear diff is an LSD? so 2 different oils will be required?

Also what is the transfer case Aaron spoke about?

the transfer case hangs off the Transmission and you'll see the front drive shaft going into it. It holds the clutch plates for the trans

its about half a litre of oil and doesnt take more than 20 minutes...

im using Red line Light weight shock proof for my rear LSD. some people dont like it. but it says its made for LSD as well, and I havnt had any problems at all. and its a group 5 oil. ive got it in the front diff too

You sure its the same filters as S15? GCC listing says its the same as a SR20DE, but theres a different filter listed for SR20DET?

I'm running the SR20DE at the moment.

If you are running the Nismo oil filter, it should state on the side of the box that it is used for M35 and S15 among others.

if they'd revised the sump design between the S14 and S15 they may have needed to use a different sized filter

close, S14 and S15 engines are almost identical. the S13 and S13 FWD SR20 took different (and larger) filters.

Powerflow 5W-30

Its what my VW use on all their Golfs including the GTI and on all modern Audi's now too.. One oil is nice for both cars too means i can always use the excess

Yeah I don't think engine oil matters as long as its the right grade and weight. Gearbox oil on the other hand...
