Did he honestly mean to do it? Not saying that he didn't, but he did come to basically a complete stop at turn 2 to let you past on your flyer.

Was he on a flying lap as well? I assume not because that line into the hairpin wouldn't really work would it..?

And as said above, at least he apologized! Bad sportsmanship if he didn't, it just goes to show how competitive it actually has gotten!

Here is a small article from www.Speedcafe.com

See a little controversy goes a long way!!!

cheers dave

i like this line "In the Open Class, Sydney Evo driver Nik Kalis was the clear winner with a 1:34.82 ahead of John Boston in a Nissan 300ZX."

what the hell? lol. John Boston in the 300ZX was 3rd last (15th) in pro in the 300ZX and was 4th in open in the S2000. ahh I just realised what happened. they must have counted the 300ZX time in open instead of pro where it would be good enough for 2nd. funny.

lol, he broke his box hence being practically parked at T2 when glenney came past on his second flyer.... he was on his warm up when glenney was on his flyer. he should have buttoned right off and let glenney past out of T5, but when glenney was up his date around T8 (having been behind him for 3 corners already) and he finally decided he'd let him past it was too late as glenney was already going around the outside to get past him on the right going into T9 so when he moved right he ended up blocking glenney again. by that point he was about to get on it for the start of his flyer (and by now probably didn't want glenney past him since glenney would be getting off it somewhere after T1 where Dave would now be on his flyer) and simultaneously glenney realised that having been held up in 4 corners now meant his lap was screwed so just backed off to get some space and try again.

it was just a bit awkward more than anything else but really he should have just buttoned right off it somewhere around T5/T6 and let glenney go and then got himself set for his own flyer.

That was a lot worse than the RX7. He would have seen you coming from T5 as Baron said. He had ample time and opportunity to move across.... which he did..... right into your line! It almost looks deliberate which makes it even worse and completely justifies Glenney's and the I imagine the team's anger.

I will say this. Regardless of whether it was intentional or not (and we have no idea really) glenney showed what a pro he is not to lose his shit. I imagine it would have been sorely tempting to get right up his ass or even pass him out of 9 and give him the "wtf" gesture etc but that would have just compromised his next lap too. He took a deep breath (and probably let a few "fcks" loose), backed off for some room and got back to work. Sadly we don't always see that level of control on the international stage (FIA GT anyone?) well done glenney.

Thought I'd let you know that your car is getting a bit of exposure in a few of the popular Japanese Auto publications (Option,Option2 , Rev Speed) and on DVD here in Japan.

    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
    • GT-R clearly the better choice! The 300 is certainly not insaly fast but has a decent amount of poke. Does a nice little drift around the corners with a decent amount of throttle. It's VERY predictable in a slide too.  Feels so progressive! People probably presume there's a 25 year old driving it based on my behaviour this week! 🤣
    • Yeah Jap import. Fairlady Z then! I'm a bit the same.  They've been on my radar for a fair while but then just impulsively decided to buy one!  Was going to just buy an NA and add turbos to it later but decided to save the f'ing around and just buy the turbo version.
    • Thanks mate, well done to you too! Yeah not looking forward to doing any major work to it!
