Hey Guys,

Looks like August 14th is going to be Track day #3.

So get those cars ready and we'll see you out there.

For the new guys.

- These track days are the perfect opportunity to try your hand at some track work.

- It is a non competitive day, laps will not be officially timed.

- There will be many experienced drivers there to offer advice on driving and mods.

- Entry fees are $80 for members, $140 for non members. Pay on the day (If you're interesting in becoming a member visit the HSCC website )

- No drifting, just vanilla circuit work.

All you need is,

- Your car, in a road worthy condition (no leaks, working brakes, seat belts, ect.)

- Helmet (as1698 standard)

- Long sleeved top and full length pants. (no Nylon)

- Covered toe shoes.

I hope I've outlined everything here... Feel free to add anything if I've missed anything.

Cheers,

cheers.gif

Something that threw me for a while was the helmet standard, basically any motorbike helmet with the silver sticker of awesome is fine :)

The membership pays for itself in a couple of track days, but with a new membership and usage of baski for a day it is $150 all up, and just $80 each day afterward, which is awesomely cheap.

This may not be the place to mention it, but I'm keen to try out symmons plains at some point, so maybe we should attempt another poll or something? Would be good if this could turn into a full state thing, rather than just southerners getting the upper hand each time :) (that being said I do like baski as a track more :P )

how much is the hscc membership?

what would be the cost of 1 day for entry

and where is the next one?

if i have the cash i'd be pretty keen on coming in the stagea :)

your other altenative is to join light car club of tas who are a launceston group. they have the same MST affiliation as hobart sporting car club so you get the same discounted track entry.

to join them you simply need to go to KT electronics at the 5 ways kingsmeadows and see them. there membership is only $50 i think.

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
