Just got back from the Liberty club dyno day at Edge Motorworks, i'm buggered after strapping 23 awd cars down to the dyno but what a great day.

Anyway, my winning result was 341.1kw at around 23psi, just shy of my 350kw goal. Cihan (my tuner) decided not to push it further as the compressor was out of flow again and he doesn't want to see me brake it for no reason. Very happy with the result though, its unbelievable to drive and it's a stupidly responsive turbo for the power output. Also good to hear that the Edge dyno is comparable in output to many of the other local tuning shops.

Shame I didn't get the torque graph, you can plainly see the compressor flow dropping off as efficiency goes out the window.

Awesome effort once again Scotty; you must be stoked with the result.

Never ceases to amaze me just what you've been able to acheive with this car; sure has come a long way since that 180ish kw dyno run!

Well done.

Thanks Dale. :)

Generally in 4th gear you wouldn't have anything below that sort of speed, its not like you take off in 4th from the lights. The goal is to have at least 4000 revs of usable power then select the correct gear to use it.

Obviously this is much laggier than the stock setup but above 4000 revs it is very responsive, boost hits instantly. its only below that where is comes on slower but it is still acceptable in my eyes, remember most of the highflow turbos going in are around the same wheel size, mine just has a larger rear housing for flow.

Ok thanks for the explanation. When do you get boost in 1st gear then? I can't imagine what it's like to drive our cars with a laggy turbo as they seems such slugs until boost kicks in. I imagine yours would be a whole new ball game with a manual box in it. Are you still considering this?

What did you Rev it out to? I would have thought top of 4th would be over 200. Guess I'll see on the dyno on the weekend. Didn't look at the speedo last time.

The dyno has a speed restriction of 200kph, I have no idea what revs its at when it hits that. Seeing we run the same diffs can you let me know? Are our gearboxes the same ratio?

Boost in first is absolutely useless, especially in rear drive. (It will light up second in the dry) Usually around 5k I would say at a guess. Remember though, I have a 4k stall converter once boost ramps so once the initial second of nothing has passed it is always on boost, whatever gear i'm in.

It was interesting going up a hill on the freeway in the wet the other day, just leaning on the throttle, and as boost ramps the car stepped out at 100kph in 4th. I need the front diff in soon, before winter hits.

So yes we should be the same ratio's depending on your rolling diameter.......4th gear should just about be smack on 220-230km/h for you!

You mean like a few weeks ago??

At least you guys can drive...try public transport in this shitty weather...

At least you have public transport

I have to walk to work 65kms each way... in the snow... uphill... :P

Both self inflicted so no sympathy here. lol.

I'll check it out on the weekend and let you know.

Thanks Alex, it will be interesting to see how much of the graph is missing. Perhaps there IS a little more in it...

I don't think more lag would be a good idea, although I can still hit full boost in 5th on the freeway cruising thanks to the stally. I'm probably going down the built 3.5 path next, just to give you a run for your money Alex. When are you winding up the wick?

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
