Easily still get $60,000+ on a V-Spec II with low Km's and keeping it stock.

V-Spec can go for about $50,000.

Base model GTR would be about $40,000.

If it's modified, it will lower the sale price.

The more mods, the lower it will become.

How so..?

It's not a super-rare model/collectors item.

So if someone puts a built motor/brakes onto it - i tell you now it wont sell for LESS than it would if it was stock.

That's just madness.

I see,

So you can get back money on mods..?

How much can you put back on top of the stock price if modded to what you said?

yeah, Ash is right, for our cars, mods done properly will definitely add value, but obviously not at a 1:1 ratio of what you paid :D

you could probably work out a very rough idea of $ spent on mods vs value added to car, like say 30% or something like that. I sold my GT-T last year for low 30's, compared with say high teen's for a basic manual GT-T - so done properly with quality mods, should definitely add value

A nice V-Spec II, low kms - fairly stock, low $60K's sounds about right - nicely basic modded one for around mid-high $60K's i'd say.

didnt realise this was a discussion about 1:1 ratio of $$ spend vs $$ recouped.

Was a simple question of would a modded one sell for more, the answer is most certainly - YES! :D

no cos the price of mods V what extra you get on the price will be lucky to be 50% so you still lose.. except you get the enjoyment of said mods.

its probably worth 60k but its what someone is prepared to pay for it that matters

if it was me id by a stocker for 40k and spend 20k on mods if i had a budget of 60k

unless yours is some ultra super mega rare midnight purple III or something obscure i see (and probably most) zero value in vspec II over normal vspec

Guesstimate $59K Plus or Minus - Depending on...

* Proof of low Kms

* Servicing

* Mods done here with quality hardware & reputable tuner Vs sight unseen Vs stock

* Colour

* Condition of car and upholstery

* Tiredness of engine/running gear Re: street Vs track

* Absence of rust

* Absence of damage or that it has been fixed properly

* Demand Vs supply

* Time of year and state of economy

Enough variables?

depends on which mods.

a bastardised car with a mess of mods would be cheaper. something well built etc will be more. like Daniels midori R34 :thumbsup:

Depends what's done lol

All true :)

I'm with you on that one.

Besides, to make a base model R34 GTR to level up to the V-Spec / V-Spec II, won't take much.

A few cosmetic changes + the MFD, suspension mods and you're pretty much done.

No point debating it, Paul's right here...it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Not half cost of mods multiplied by x divided by v-spec to the power of MFD. Until someone hands over the cash that's all just speculation, particularly on a car with such variation in sale price.

Start at the top of the market and work your way down in price until you get low enough that a serious buyer comes along and can't resist purchasing it. That's what everyone else does. And be prepared to wait - it's a specialist car. However long you spent looking for your car and waiting for the right one to come along, that's how long you could be waiting to sell it for what you think it's worth.

Or price it reasonably and sell it in a week.

Stuffing around for 4-5 months trying to sell an import for that extra '3-4k' just isn't worth the hassle in many instances. 100's of questions, tyre kickers and time wasters.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
