Well from the elevated platform. Could see most of the drift. Hehe.

And russman cutting the corner onto the bank then making my ears orgasm.

Glad you liked it :)

I'd go back to the Dome for a similar event in a heartbeat. I might even look at trying to run a SAU-Vic event there if people are keen. I think its a really awesome experience.

As an entrant it looked like it would be a good event, a club event would be much better there as they tried to cram too much into a confined area for the size of the event.

I felt the need to write a complaint on the ADGP facebook page yesterday, that was deleted, now they have a (as i called him) "bogan strung out on meth" abusing the people who were not impressed by the lack of viewing, i bet that does not get deleted.

Of course they will remove it off their FB page.

There is a right and a wrong way to go about it - I'm sure you can workout which that is :)

No way would I get into a public slanging match on something like Facebook, that doesn't help anyone as everyone will always go wild.

I actually spent a bit of time typing up a long document to the organisers myself with some comments & constructive input which was a collation of talking to Drivers, Patrons & Staff members over the two days, they were my own views & no doubt it will help to improve the event.

A 1st event is never going to be near perfect, such things are not possible.

I didnt consider it a slanging match, i stated my case and a lot of people agreed, the only person i replied to who bagged out everyone who was not happy was luke finks girlfriend, she thought it was an awesome event and everyone should just be happy that it was on, i politely (no im not joking) pointed out that since she was paid to be there (not that i saw where they were meant to be) and she was also there with someone else who im pretty sure was paid to be there and is also good friends with the person who organised it that she was a little biased.

Not that it matters, hopefully all the problems will be sorted for next year and maybe there will be some more full house drift cars, as much as i am a skyline fan it would also be good to see some variety in the cars, according to the list there was 1 toyota and a zl fairlane, saw the fairlane in the pits and it was just a big bucket of red neck pus!

How many time attack cars were there, when i did the pit walk i saw maybe 6, the evo seemed to be the only purpose built time attack car that i could see.

Matter of interest did any-one get a copy fo the free program/magazine thing?

Is it worth chasing them up for it?

ie much info on the track battle side of things?

M

sweet fa, a 3 or 4 page write up on jet200 (andrew hawkins car) can scan it for you if you like.

There was a ADGP part and trackbattle part.

I scanned the TB part minus the ads for you. Nothing interesting.

Regarding drift cars, yeah all were nissans, one chaser and a blue fairlane, which was utter crap.

Russ what time did you end up getting?

Cover: jet200

inside cover: Ksport ad

page 1: description of what cars and mods divide the class's

page 2, 3, 4: jet200 write up

page 5: origin/savanna motorsport inc ad

page 6: track layout and session times

page 7: half page ad for chasers other half for motive dvd

The end!

I suspect the organisers would have heard it loud and clear that they hadn't catered very well for the general public. I went with the Mrs and we were extremely disappointed with the inability to see anything.

You would expect that considering it's an event for the spectators that they would have spent a bit more time planning it out a bit better. After all, isn't that how they make an income?

Here's hoping that they do a better job next time. I would need A LOT of convincing to go back. Shame about the state of the venue.... I was even disappointed in the signage (lack of) and the state of the car park - it looked like a poorly graded tip.

The highlight of Sunday was walking up to the SAU end of the pits to talk to Richo and Russ between sessions (the one after the tyre was removed from the track). Sorry I missed introducing myself to you!

Thats how it has always been, even back in the day when i use to go there to see top fuelers and nascars, it has always just been a paddock.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
