LOL yes doing 7500rpm launches on Hoosier drag radials a few months ago might have made a mess of the rear diff too.

Usually i'd only launch @ 4000-4500rpm and it would turn tyres easy on the skidpan.

However there was addition of Racepace-spec Tiens... So was launching @ 6500rpm or 6700rpm, and it was still bogging on occassions as it just has heaps of grip now.

Felt heaps more settled on the back track too. Certainly worth the money.

hrmm... :glare:

Rear not locking would be the reason it wouldn't spin around on itself.

Perhaps it is stuffed as well

Open your wallet once again...

so whats the estimated cost of fixing?

I've got a Nismo front diff, so it doesn't break again.

Stock rear diff though, they are usually fine so i'll just get another. I'll drop the shaft first and make 100% sure it's not working :merli:

Thanks heaps to the organisers, volunteers and sponsers for doing such a great job. I had heaps of fun, not just at DECA but on Saturday night too :) You guys sure know how to party haha

The pics and video footage look great! Can't wait to properly go through all the pics after work

Driving on Saturday hungover hurts. A lot. Yet it hurts a lot less than the pain of not making it :D

When you drop a wheel on the grass, you sure slide for a long.. long.. long time huh?!

Thanks go to the organisers once again for a perfectly run day, love your work guys!

Single Spinners FTW! - Well least thats what it looked like from the vantage point I had.... Hey, on the positive side- at least there was some smoke :nyaanyaa:

Thanks again to the organisers, I had a great time and we couldnt have asked for better weather!

Big thanks to Wayne-o for the pre-dinner jagerbombs.... Has anyone else ever been kicked out of Baz's or am I the first one? I was apparently very happy, sociable and extremely loud- and told everyone "I LOVE LOVE Luke but LOVE youl" :rofl2:

Ahhh, good times! Sad that I will miss November DECA, but have the Skyline Nats to make up for it - bring it on!!

Where was the grass slide? Long Wang? I have a series of photos of somebody taking the scenic route past the garage.

Unfortunately for Jett, I not only have a picture of his impromptu hill climb event, I have a series of 9 pictures. I feel an animation may be produced later.

I had a great day, fantastically run as always!

Perfect DECA.

Awesome weather, tons of fun, no major incidents, fun Sat night and a pleasant drive home. As always massive thanks to import monster, volunteers, and organisers.

I've also heard rumours about introducing a new hill climb event next DECA considering the last was so successful. Can anyone confirm this?

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
