Espress
Hey guys about to buy a 95 R33, mint with the following mods: 19" wheels. 3.5" stainless cat back exhaust system. Stainless split dump pipe. E-manage ultimate. HDi Digital boost controller. Blitz turbo timer. GCG high flow turbo. Air to water intercooler. Pod air filter and custom fabricated cold air intake. Towbar. 4 new 235/35/19 tyres Coil packs just replaced with Yellow jackets Wabro hich flow fuel pump Thing is the guy has a dyno sheet reading just 200kw, this seems a little low for a gcg high flow? He doesnt mention injectors so could he just be running out of fuel? He got it tuned at some small workshop ive never heard of so perhaps the tune is crap. Would bigger injectors and a z32 airflow meter+retune by matty spry or gavin wood net more power? Whats the best place to get new injectors and the afm? Room42
If he hasn't swapped the injectors over then that would be about right. Mine maxed out around there. I haven't personally used a gcg highflow but if the stock turbo can make around 200rwkw at 14psi then a high flow will put out a lot more. Here is a link to the same person I bought my injectors from. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/6-660cc-Fuel-injectors-Nissan-Skyline-RB25DET-300zx-TT-/120768070761?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1e568469 I spoke to them very recently and they have a 900cc set there that work fine but have cosmetic damage only. They mentioned they would be discounted because of this. I payed around $500 for my 900cc's so you would expect to pay less. All these injectors have been used but are refurbished. Get a new afm from any auto store that we all go to on the weekend. Or a second hand one from the classifieds here. Make sure you get a plug for the afm too. In my opinion there is a big difference between a mechanic and a tuner. dori34
yes bigger injectors & Z32 will give you more power. should see anywhere from 240-270 with that turbo. JustinP
I was going to say it was the 19" wheels!! I recommend at least 21" which should give you an easy 300rwkw. Room42
I was going to say it was the 19" wheels!! I recommend at least 21" which should give you an easy 300rwkw. Man I was wondering about that. So you're saying if I swap the multifit lenso 19's on my commodore to my skyrine it will go quicker? But then the commodore will have to get a set of stockies and will look even more like shit. What would a stock ride height r33 look like with 19's anyway. The entire wheel is bigger. It might turn it into a 4x4. That would mean I can swap the gts25t sticker to a gtr badge hey! Dobz
22's will get you more into what's called the sweet spot where power and torque increase 10 fold over existing power. rondofj
Use a shiny chrome 3" exhaust tip from any muffler shop and your power is guaranteed to be at least 270 rwkw. Throw in some stickers for a standout ride aswl Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/375655-200kw-a-little-low/#findComment-5992704 Share on other sites
KiwiRS4T
Bit hard on the poor guy! Yes mate 200 is too low - the turbo should be good for 250 - 260rwkw with a Z32 afm and bigger injectors if all else is in good nick and the intercooler is rated for the job. boostn0199
Still even eith stock afm and injectors youd expect maybe 220 kw unless its a low reading dyno. How much boost it it at? I would still xheck it out and maybe do a compression check if your keen on it. 045HOW
Well im just gonna say you dont always buy a turbo to max it out. not having a dig. good luck with it and hope your claim comes through all good. Room42
Only jokin fella. You may get a little more power from the stock injectors and afm. If the afm is at 5 and a bit volts then there isn't much you can do except swap it out. My stock injectors were hitting 95-100% regularly and the stock afm was hitting 5.1 volts regularly to get between 190 and 200 rwkw. That was with the stock fuel pump. RobertoB
It's the new tyres, wear them out a bit and you'll see massive gains. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/375655-200kw-a-little-low/#findComment-5998427 Share on other sites
Thelen
ignore those pricks, you need bigger injectors, bigger AFM, check it actually is tuned properly, and then you'll see the power. currently you're making the power you get from a car that has had a moron mod it.... OoskylineoO
How much boost is the guy running? I'm getting 200rwkw @ 10psi with my gcg high flow (low boost setting) +z32, walbro, stock injectors. May be slightly off topic but where does everyone get the idea stock injectors max at 200rwkw? My high boost setting is set to 16psi and making 260rwkw with standard injectors, standard reg, z32 + nistune by Toshi from our forum. I watched my car on the dyno pulling this figure with stock injectors and told was even still able to push a little bit more out of the stock injectors. But then again it does seem sensible to upgrade the injectors, I just got a bit lazy Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/375655-200kw-a-little-low/#findComment-5998984 Share on other sites
2.5L
200kw at the wheels is very low for those mods, im running standard turbo standard injectors, 3 inch exhaust, walbro drop in and a front mount and I made 200 at the wheels on 10PSI Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/375655-200kw-a-little-low/#findComment-5999240 Share on other sites
Rolls
If he has stock injectors and afm and hence is limited to 10-12psi then yes it sounds completely normal. My gcg highflow made 210rwkw on 12psi and 240kw on 18psi, depends on what turbo has been used and what wheels it has. Injectors, fuel pump, afm and a retune shouldn't set you back much over $1500, though if you are buying a car why not just keep looking and find something that a) makes the power you want, and b) doesn't have gay ass chromies on it.
