If i want to fit a new bootlid onto the car (which will be sprayed) should i look for a poor condition black one? ie. if I supply a red one and ask the painter to spray black he would then have to prep/spray the underside?

Very hard to find a black bootlid, I do have a red one but not sure if worth painting. No doubt covering the red paint on the underside would be a pain...

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if ham is being serious or not. kinda hard to tell in text, but thanks anyways :turned:

Whole car is legal height, cat is just on 100mm. Fronts are poking out a little bit, i'll ask the dudes to camber it in a tiny bit when getting the alignment done. Only thing police can really defect me for is tint. (and being too stiff?)

I'm quite happy with the result, glad I didn't go +0 (current +20)

dead serious man... it's totally practical (well what i would call practical) looks tuff and wont attract cops unless they are SUPER bored.

little more poke on the rears could be nice but i'll wait for a front/rear shot to judge

Will grab a front and rear tomorrow. Looks a lot better irl as every other car does.

Glad people think it looks good. Wasn't really sure with the gun metal centres, as I haven't seen it before on a silver civic.

Me = Happy

And I made it up alvins driveway. that's a plus.

scirocco R is same price (thereabouts) and FWD. while it looks baller from the front and side the ass is epic fail.

golf R is 4wd - similar system to the GTR but it is front wheel biased. so when you are putting around the city or a hwy it's fwd to save fuel but when you pin it, it can throw up to 100% to the rears.

also i wont be buying new.

should get you to come past where I had my car tuned, get some rides in golf r's, modded gti's etc and see how they go

a lot of the guys tend to head towards the gti's because they are more nimble being lighter and get cools pops/bangs over the r's for some reason

reckon ill make it up?

Interesting you say that Nick, cause there was a magazine shoot out a while ago, where they got tuning workshops to modify their choice of car (under a certain cost, like 60k) and the same drivers to test them all around a track. The GTIs kicked ass once modified and were actually quicker around that track than the modified R32, from memory.

Probably, try it! You got even less overhang than me. Only thing i'd worry about is your exhaust.

haha i have no rear muffler now anyway, completely straight through :P

Yeah I was surprised to hear it, but it does make sense

I'd say the R's would be really useful on a full hills run to make use of the 4wd

the older mk5's are still the v6 na so they get blitzed by the gti's unless you drop the twin turbo kits on them which are like $10k :S

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
