Just go Shannons!

I was with Just Cars but this year they reduced my agreed value and up the premium.

Shannons gave me a cheaper premium and kept my higher agreed value from what Just Cars gave me last year.

how much they charge ruff..i like how you can choose your repairer unlike justcar

Yeah I might, a bit undecided. Means I might have to wash the car.

Haha!

You should be washing your car on a weekly basis!

$1300+

Yes, you can choose your repairer, that's right.

And if you want to pay monthly / quarterly / half yearly, they do not charge you extra.

Just Cars aren't as evil as the rap they're getting in here. All the insurance companies are putting their premiums up cause they all have massive offsets from hail damage - insurance is a business like any other, who else is gonna pay for all the claims? At least with JC you can throw away some of your premium in favour of a higher excess - if you're confident you won't crash then this pays itself off in 2-3 years of not having made a claim.

As for repairers, they will let you use your own if your quote comes to within a reasonable amount of theirs. There's nothing wrong with Just Cars repairers anyway...you can choose which one and they still have to repair a vehicle to your satisfaction, otherwise you are entitled to challenge it. To the contrary, when I was getting a car fixed, JC's assessor tried to get me to go with my repairer cause they offered to do it for cheaper lol...I said no, we'll go with yours instead (I preferred the way they said they would go about repairing)...so they let me...couldn't be happier with the job they did.

Last premium for the 33 was 847 full comp...I do expect it to go up a bit this year, but if it doubles I'll be switching to third party.

So many more options for imports these days; back when I was 18 there were only two companies who wanted anything to do with you. Shannon's would hang up the phone as soon as you said Skyline lol.

lol so true I remember one useless one wouldn't cover you if your car was on street / unsecured parking at any time. So go Coles car stolen no cover.. No surprise they didn't last long

Hearing a bit about jdmst today.

Someone fill me in? Apparently a commo chucked a skid and someone thew a bottle at the cop car? Cops blocking entrances and the street?

Anyone went and see it unfold?

My mate got blamed for throwing the bottle at the cop car, but he's not the kind of person who would do that.

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
