It was the 2012 2.9ltr model.

Did corner very well, much more planted than the r32. Could easily be used as a daily.

lol ofcourse it was more planted than the r32. its also a lot more expensive hahaha but you can afford it now

What about soft compound race semis? :)

BAHAH. i do need some of them eventually. (like nationals for the hillclimb) but now my priority is decent road tyres... i have 6 wheels, with 3 just above legal tyres and one good tyre that is making the car drive like shit... im gonna throw a pair of maxxis zr-1s on the front in 2 weeks, but i need to find two decent tread pairs for the rear.....

hey victorians. thought id ask again... anybody have a pair of 235 40 18's laying around gathering dust? i need a cheep (relatively) pair for my spares...

hell ill take 245's.

please and thank you.

I think i got achilles 123s 235/40/18 atm.

Though I need to get some new ones before I can get rid of these

Some might say its a poor mans 911 Carrera, but others say its better!

Haha I'm a good 20yrs+ away from buying any luxury car. Can't afford to blow so much money on a depreciating asset (r32 doesn't count)

Need to invest for the future! /boringpathway

Was considering one as a daily for this very reason! Daily + weekender in one!

Reliability and expenses scare me though!

im in. lol was looking at atr sport 1's.... let me know when you pick some more tyres up!

Will do!

You look better in a Porsche when your 30 rather than 50 just sayin :P

Has a look at www.pelicanparts.com

Have been buying BMW parts for my dads car from there. Very cheap spare parts in the states. I would assume similar for Porsche parts too.

Haha in that case I have 5 years to make it happen then :P

God knows where I will be in 2 let alone 5.

One thing I do predict, the r32 will still be around! :P

Cool! Still, dat mid mount engine...seems like pain in the ass to work on.

Other than that, you got an awesome all rounder and better looking than the Carrera IMO. Older models still look good and the S isn't too bad on price.

Day 1 of not having a job.

What to do?

Nothing. You're off the grid. The absolute freedom and ability to do anything you've ever dreamed of in this short life is so infinite and full of potential for regret, that you will ultimately end up falling into a daily routine of nothing because you fear your overwhelming choices. Then regret doing nothing in the end. Enter depression, for that vicious cycle touch.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
