You can buy duty free from Singapore and bring back to Aus, I brought in 2L of vodka. It's best to buy your alcohol at the stop immediately prior to your final destination as if there's a stop over inbetween you may not be able to board your next flight with it.

A mate just came back through there, claimed he couldn't bring anything as SG --> Aus was not allowed. I was skeptical to say the least

I think it has to go through checked baggage rather than carry on, or vice versa.

Rekin couldn't bring back a 40oz of Absolut which he purchased on his way into Singapore, so he left it with me when he went back. This might have been because he had no checked baggage.

I remember now...you have to take it back as checked baggage, but you can't access duty free shops at Changi until you've checked your baggage...so you have to buy it as you are entering Singapore rather than when you are leaving. And pack it in suitcase/checked.

Fair enough. Guess my mate is absolved then

Thanks brah

Can any brahs confirm if you can/cannot bring in duty free liquor from Singapore

now here a topic I know well..

Singapore is one of the few countries you can still buy duty free and bring it to aust after buying in the airport.

you need to be there early however if you buy last sec they wont sell it to you as they don;t ahve time.

YOU buy the alcohol, and they bag it

give you a ticket.

you then go to the gate, go through security

Go through the LAG check that is a solely AU requirement,

and after the this you give the attendant in the boarding lounge the ticket and you get your bag.

remember you cannot carry on any liquid more than 100 ml onto a flight to AU international

unless they do this check.

HK/Bangkok do not offer this.

Dubai does a variant of this allowing you to buy.

not that I've done this b4.

Melb arrivals Duty free prices...higher than dan murphy's usually.

Customs asked me if I had any pharmaceuticals/steroids disguised as shampoos etc

I said "Nope"

He said ok exit through there

Next time I'm bringing in all the steroids

Should have grilled customs

This is all naturale

Just becuase I look big doesn't mean i take steriods

Do you even lift?

Police Ten Seven; a New Zealand based road patrol reality series.

Ahh gotcha, seen some of there shows!

so of the 3 cars we have here...the race car is the only one who's aircond working properly..

re gas for the other 2 needed me thinks

add in thick as radiator and low temp thermostat...it likes it better than most cars

then back very low while driving.

bit worried about taking it out now tbh..

Car is off the road at the moment, but I reckon my oil temps would hit 105-110c in this heat in daily commuting

:O more mods?!

Trent is doing the tune. Booked in for next Wednesday

Anything over 320rwkw Ill be happy with, more so to free up the engine and let it breath in the upper rpm range rather than being chocked up by the small turbo

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
