From what I know, you can't store more than one map in the ECU, I think Hamish carry laptop containing both 98 oct and E85 tune and transfering via PFC datalogit.

I'm sure Hamish will correct me if I'm wrong.

data logit wont work on a mac i dont think... fek..

go kill yourself kadir.

Can't switch tunes on PFC, need Data Logit or FC Hako - Paul will tell you more about this, or Google it. Be surprised if it doesn't work with Mac. Or just shell out $200 for a small/cheap laptop...

Yes. Just beat my PB at the Island from April by .5 of a second after being set back by a traumatic crash in October. In an exhausted state as well!

Now down to 1:46.3 oooooooh rah! Only ten more seconds to go :D

Congrats, maybe it was me and the supplements :P

Yeah, I think one of these macbooks with intel core can run mac/windows xp.

Might be a option.

BTW, is this at Dromana on the pics?

yeah you need winblows to run datalogit

and fc hako is a cable only solution, so you use the fc hako cable with datalogit or apexi's software

again all windows based

you could buy a crap old dell lattitude laptop off ebay for 200 with a true serial port and run win98

many people do that for car based serial connection thingies (i sold my datalogit kit with a dell win98 laptop)

cool thanks..

i can install windows as a secondary system on the mac..

will i need the datalogt module to use it? or is it just a pfc to usb cable??

yep you can try running it inside an emulated windows

as long as it can speak to a serial port it should be fine

datalogit expects a serial port, and doesnt understand usb

so as long as whatever you use, appears as COM serial port, it will work (or should)

datalogit is software and a cable

fc hako is a cable

datalogit is software and a cable

depending on what software you try to use, will determine what cable you use

or vice versa

if you have an apexi legit cable, you must use their software

if you have datalogit cable, you can use datalogit

if you have an fc hako cable you can use any software

grant

as long as it (the pc or laptop or mac or windows or linux or solaris or beos) can speak to a serial port it should be fine

datalogit (and the others) expect a serial port, and don't understand usb

so as long as whatever you use, appears as COM serial port, it will work (or should)

datalogit ships with a USB cable and so does FC hako

but all that this cable does is provide a USB serial port

datalogit and apexi fc pro etc don't know native USB speak

they just assume its a COM serial port and hope for the best

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
