My car at Nismo

This adds new meaning to the term "Finding Nismo" !!! Hahaaa.

Those lists Brad, Nick, Adam, Kristian, Simon, Marcus and others demostrate just how many Nismo-Nuts there really are!!!!

Interesting to observe too that discontinued Nismo items seem to retain their value (depending on condition).

Can someone let us know how to get to Nismo Omori let's say, after getting out of Narita Airport hehe...?

What are the times of opening? How long should one spend inside there?

What can we see there > touch there > shop for there?

Nismo's Testing Track?

For me (Dec last year), I had to google the directions and opening hours when i was in Japan lol.

You could spend max about 45mins there i reckon.

Its really a small nismo shop off with glass through to the workshop. They did have some cool nismo gear there but and I bought a few things.

Anything really specific to the car model, then they may have to order it in.

But after talking to them in engrish the best I could and showing them my GTR on my iphone, I asked to see inside the workshop but they didnt want to (may have been language barrier aswell). So i Started asking about the S-Tune and R-Tune motors inside the workshop, the guy then showed me through the workshop in which I got to see, ask about and have a good look over, S-Tune and R Tune motors, The Z tune demo car, The 370 demo car and the new GTR race car they have.

Which i wet my pants over.

Althoguh I knew most of the specs and rough prices of some of the motors etc, I asked heaps of questions and they were more than happy to show me about.

Although it is rather small, just seeing the nismo building and all the cool nismo stuff was well worth it, and being a diehard GTR fan i just loved the place lol.

Me and my mrs also took a walk around the outside of the building see different nismo symbols the rear wing of a yellow 400r on the 3rd floor, plus there was a nice pond/garden out the back.

Nismo testing track...have to ask the guys like marcus etc

Yep, just Drift teks....

I've been to Omori factory 3 times now, first time was about 3 years ago, and they had the showroom right at the front. Was quite good, lots to look at, but then they moved it into a kinda side room, and they only have a limited supply of stuff, i think you have to order stuff from them, cant just get it right then and there.

Shinagawa is the main station to get to, which is a pretty big station, and easy to find on the toyko rail map, then change at shinagawa, cant remember the line, but Omori kaigan is the station you want, its only 2 or 3 stations away. You cant miss the Nismo sign!

Terry, thats the old NISMO logo. It's crappy and doesn't suit the R34, let me know when you want me to come by and pick it up ;)

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
