We can confirm that PFC are definitely being re-run somewhere, new packaging and sporting a new firmware version.

I have one here as we speak.. great news for skyline owners!!

The lastest version is not yet supported by any PC software so we are currently going through the process (scan) of making it talk to the tuning suites, should be good to go in a few days.

I hope they have some form of knock protection, i.e. retard timing on knock, imagine that.. would be perfect

I dare say they won't be to different to the previous ones. Maybe just adding some of the djetro features etc.

Hopefully I'm wrong but don't think they will be revolutionary. Should still be good though

I'm interested to know what the firmware differences are and if Datalogit can talk to it . I wouldn't replace an existing PFC with a new one because more recent plug ins probably offer more for not a lot more money though that would depend on what these new ones cost .

A few more goodies like a map sensing option and air temperature sensing wouldn't go astray - sort of L Jet D Jet options in one box .

Maybe a bit faster processing and updated injector drivers/IAC control .

A .

apexi have released the djetro for ECR33 if you are after that

it inclues a map sensor and air temp sensor as a kit

but its djetro only, you can swap between models like autronic etc where you just choose the input type

the powerfc was always positioned as the cheap end of the stand alone plug and play

so thats why its set model and not customisalbe out the ass, but customisable enough

and i think retard tming based on knock isnt a feature because they didnt want it as a feature

it would be 3 lines of code to do it but i believe they didnt want it to back out timing because its too simplistic

i agree it would be nice to have it as an additional feature, ie off by default, enable and choose how many deg or INJ to correct based on knock etc

STATUS (Trent): Is there any update on this? I might be interested in updating my Power FC for my new engine if you can get tuning software working. BTW is this an issue with the Tuning software not talking that you are working on or a problem with the connection from laptop to PC?

Hopefully its all good news :)

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
