Looking good. One thing I always thought about doing is trying to paint those cards that sit in the bottom of the doors.

But I'm to lazy for that.

Hmmm, you had to put the idea into my head didn't you? ;)

Looks like the cardboard cards are fairly easy to take out just a few screws.

I was careful not to pull the factory glued vinyl off them to separate them from the door.

Went and got some 3D Black Carbon Vinyl Wrap today. Just got some cheaper stuff from Supercheap as those pocket cards are a bit hidden.

Cut to size and layed over. Getting the bubbles/lines out is fairly easy.

Back in and all screwed up. Gives them a nice subtle look. I used some Kiwi Grip spray contact adhesive as the door cards are chipboard with only a thin layer of paint between that and the wrap adhesive. Goes on stronger that way.

10kw more than me. Damn you!

Don't think it'd make a difference in the real world, man :)

You running -9's? Got a link to your graph somewhere? Wouldn't mind taking a look, esp at what the boost curve is like.

Nah -7's. Standard actuators and afm's hurt my power.

Chris told me it made around 340rwkw but I told him to back it off as it's a track car and I wanted it to be safe.

That's good power for -7's, man. The final tune I got is a track safe tune also. Looking forward to finally getting it on the road and then to some events this year!

I'm not complaining. I've got to learn how to drive before I get more power.

I Should hopefully have my car on the road for the 1st time tonight and 1st track day of the year on Saturday. Man I'm excited!

Hey mate,

I've so far had the car back at 3 power levels. 298,312 & 335awkw

Compared to how I first got the car back in 2005 (standard ceramics boosted to the max - 260rwkw), the -9's are definitely a bigger turbo and respond accordingly. The -9 setup in my car pulls all the way pretty much to redline unlike the standards which hit a wall near the top end. (and you could feel it)

Depends what you're after- purely street i'd go -7's for a 2.6L. I want to eventually get some events under my belt so wanted that little bit extra so went -9's as I had all the supporting mods.

That said look at gtr jet, he got 325kw with his -7's. Awesome.

How was the first drive Shivam? Still tossing up to go -7s or -9s, still leaning towards the -9s.

Thanks mate, the -9's are pretty much maxed out now. It made far more but it's been dialed back for a track safe tune. Very happy with it, feels great and can't wait to start on a few events this year.

Going to spend the next couple of months neatening a few things and getting it ready for Road or Club reg.

Wow awesome turn out with the tune/power output. Good &

solid number. All that hard work has finally paid off.

Can't believe how good them door cards turned out,

Definitely adding that to my to do list. Good work man.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
