“Rbn1” R32 Gtr - 7 Years In Storage – Time To Restore And Rebuild.

Recommended Posts

IMO get an OEM R32 GTR steering wheel for street and just swap that Sparco wheel on for when its tracked. OEM all the way.

Agreed. OEM one is pretty good.

Finding one that isn't shagged is another thing :)

Have a look into Nardi Steering wheels.

I got one.

Always wanted an OEM steering wheel.

Simple / looks clean and does the job.

But I got a Nardi, can't complain, I guess.

I'll take a geezer.

I rather like that Sparco one as it does feel great to use.

Like I said, I have been quietly getting work done on a replacement......hopefully some sneeky pics soon! :)

Black & White - PaulR32GTR's car after we had a Motorkhana battle. What an animal!

Car ran perfectly all day without a hitch. Very happy with it.

Possibly a hill climb next, followed by a track day but before that some changes coming next time she goes into RPM for a service.

Small and subtle update. Just got the car back from a service. Some minor things repaired/replaced here and there. Discovered that I had to get the rear drive shaft reconditioned. "Replaced centre bearing, machine flange to suit spicer 1350 universal, rebuild CV and replace boot, balance assy"

Shiny new driveshaft.

Now for the visually subtle but big change to the car. RPM transfer case mod. Transfer case has been rebuilt. Additional clutch plates and a few other changes internally, I believe. Also 4WD system modified, running more pressure.

Does it make a difference? Hell yeah! 4WD comes in sooner and harder and it's lost quite a bit of the 32 GTR "tail happy, laggy 4WD system" character. Have a Haunted Hills hill climb event coming up so can't wait to really test it out. Can't believe I hadn't done this mod sooner. Next stop, Nismo front diff!

That is sweet Shivam.

Can you pm details on transfer case mod i.e. costs etc....

def sounds the way to go.

Nismo front diff - should also be another epic mod (although I will go with Quaife)

Saw your Quaife diff. Win! Will make a big difference going from 3WD>4WD on these cars :)

RPM mentioned that they modify the Nismo diff a little bit before it goes in (didn't ask what at this stage)

PM on the way :)

You'll most definitely appreciate the transfer case mod.

Running with new tyres at Winton on the weekend made it more apparent just how slow the 4WD system is from factory. Wheel spin city!

Few changes to Victorian club permits around the corner and a few other things happening as well atm. Instead of doing lots of events over the next two years in full roll-cage trim, have decided to slowly change it to a full registered road car in the next few months.

Have had this sitting around for a while. Standard steering wheel with sewn on leather cover. Will go on after the Hill Climb event this weekend at Haunted Hills.
