With the right offset and absolutely NO lipping or rolling of the guards whatsoever, it is absolutely possible to fit 275/40/17" Nitto NT555R's under the guards of your R33 GTS25t.

These are on a 17x8" rim and no i don't know the offset yet.

And yes they absolutely and utterley clear the guards with 3 fat guys jumping in the boot as well as me launching as hard as i can in their carpark.

Next urban myth i want disspelling is if R34 GTR rims will fit under the R33 GTSt guards.

If I cant fit the 350z 18" rims on perfectly, and R34 GTR rims fit on a 350z perfectly........

how does the numbering system work??

275/40/17 means....?

275 means 27.5cm wide, 40 means the height is 40% of 275 = 11.0cm high. 17 is the diameter of the rims they fit.

I think the trick for the 275s must be in getting the right wheel offset, I had to roll my guards to get 265 to fit without rubbing under load

I think the most important thing then is getting the correct offset for the width....if adrian finds his offset it would be good to copy so you know 275s will fit

yeah, well i have this faxed bit of paper - they want measurements:

rear:

hub's face to outer gaurd distance

hub's face to inner most contact point such as spring etc distance

front:

hub face to inner lip of gaurd

hub face to closest steering/suspension

then they ask about offset - the guy said somehting about a offset of 20? so i will have 5" inside of face and 3". He reckons the tyre would almost be flush with the side?

i know **** all about this shit...bah

gatty, based on the measurements between hub, guard and spring they should be able to calculate the correct offset, sounds like they are doing a professional job

yep Duncan is 100% right, its all in the offset and sadly I think you'll find 9 out of 10 cars wont have the perfect offset like Adrian has
