Sweet, I have transferred the money to you today. Looks like the list in the first post is full so Im on the reserve list?

i think there are a couple who can't make it so I'll swap you in for one of them

DRD-OOF send me a pm mate and we will arrange a swap for your spot

great for first timers

probably the best day to go on if you are a firts timer

you can go out and do passenger laps to learn bad habbits from the faster people

Best bad habits are learnt from Fatz and Neil...

Just updated Harry's Lap Timer on my iPhone and marulan is now on the track list. Nice!

What is this so called lap timer Dave???

By that logic I'm racing right now.

Its the only racing you'll be doing now that you're skyline-less.

+1 For Harrys Lap Timer. Best time was 46.13 last Fatz day, but i now have R888s instead of RSRs, a tensioned strut brace and an extra degree of neg camber on the front, so should be faster.

SHOULD be faster mr stabby hehehehe

Matt do a search for Harry's lap timer at the iTunes App Store. Free version is all ya need.

Oh and yes I believe you can get it for the android as well

Thanks mate, will do! Any testing in comparison to actual timing to check accuracy? Not that it matters for me as it probably doesnt record hours

It's not too bad, sometimes drops out randomly but all in all not bad.

At wakie I was getting within 1/4-1/2 a second of official timers (Dorians etc) so for free it pretty good.

At least gives you an idea on wether you are improving

Sounds damn good! I guess as long as you have decent 3G connection?

Yeah pretty much, you can use a Tom Tom iPhone adapter for a better GPS lock if you wanna get serious but I would just just buy a proper timer if you were gonna do that.

Edit: there's a lot trees at marulan which dosent help with the GPS

Looks like harrys lap timer is in development for android, not released yet. I have grabbed racechrono and chronogps from the android store, hopefully they go alright tomorrow

Nah it doesnt use 3G at all for timing, you just need a good GPS signal, and the one in the phone isnt great. Probably would be best to fix the phone under the windscreen somehow. It also uses a lot of power, so take a charger. I use the tomtom cradle, since i use the phone for satnav as well, and it works really well with that since its got a built in GPS and supplies power from the cig lighter socket.

BlackT - re: racechrono - i used to have that on a nokia phone years ago, and its worked well with an external bluetooth GPS. Let me know if you need to borrow the GPS, its a 5khz unit that was recommended by the racechrono guys back then.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
