Pleased to hear this was cleared up. It's not good hearing this sort of thing happening to reputable dealerships. Joe may i ask why you sell some of your cars on consignment? i've been in used cars for several years before i moved to new vehicle sales, my dealership ended up scrapping the consignment part of things due to legalities and i guess in your case it'd be difficult to tell if km's are genuine without doing a proper investigation.

Thanks Sean.

Sometimes we have no choice for selling on consignment as we run out of stock and as usual try to help others.

Its not even worth it on consignment as you get more headaches than its worth.

We now absolutely for no reason whatsoever take any cars on consignment and refuse it. I would rather leave the yard empty.

Thanks once again.

It's great to see it was actually a misunderstanding, and to see the other cars on the Xtreme Motorsports lot are legitimate. Kudos to Joe for clearing it up, and running a trustworthy business.

My earlier posts were rather cynical to say the least, but it's disheartening to see so many examples of odometer tampering especially on R grade vehicles. It decreases the value of our imports, puts the SEVS import scheme into a negative light due to rorting, and puts poor quality vehicles on Australian roads.

"HYPOCRISY" The mistake was rectified within minutes once we noticed, you only need to go to the showroom and see for your self!! And as to the "source" at least they don't need to hide behind forums, Facebook or Ebay to offer a service that the industry rejects!!

This is going to be a long post - so strap in folks.

Ok - now down to business:

1) let's take a look at this Evo 7 - recently up on carsales.com.au (http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Mitsubishi-Lancer-2001/AGC-AD-14170113/?Cr=13&sdmvc=1)

The car has become 'not available' - hopefully not sold! Fortunately I have a screenshot of the ad as it was on Saturday 10th August (click to view full size):

Note the VIN number - it ends in 3809. You can find the same car here on the dealer website - note that the complete VIN is not posted on this website but the last 4 digits are. Website says 62,160kms

2 - let's see if we can confirm a mode of operation - last 4 digits of the VIN are always accurately represented on the dealer website. Check the blue Stagline - very unique, last 4 digits of VIN = 1286, website says 107,084kms

3 - One more before the clincher - white E51 Elgrand - VIN ends in 9204, website says 80,513kms:

So we have established a clear mode of operation - now for the original vehicle and subject of this thread - VIN ends with: 7066, website says 84,702kms

Someone seems pretty confident their de-reg certs will back them - how is this possible? At a guess I would refer to this post: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/430241-hyprocrisys-a-bitch-aint-it-the-truth-about-kilometers/?p=6973008

100% agree on the 184,000kms but we need to define "genuine".

PS. of course I have screenshots of the dealer website.

Whats the deal with the one listed listed here?

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/432061-v36-sedan-sydney-dealerships/page-2

'This car is absolutely pristine and faultless.' The number of marks and auction grade tell a different story.

seems like another dealer in Sydney doing the wrong thing, The auction sheet says it all!!

The reason people might want to use our service ((Bespoke Inc Odometer History Check )Formally Import Factory)) is quite simple. We have an address, phone number, email, staff (10 to be exact), have nothing to hide and are not scared of anyone.

Other companies like JOC seemed to hide behind ebay, facebook and forums without an actual face, a ghost if you like!

We have nothing against these companies and commend the work they have started! But there is no reason why another competitor can't offer the service! And there is no reason why we need to be put down like in above post!

Isn't it funny when you were giving it to us in earlier posts our name / company information was all over the threads and allowed.

But now we defend ourselves and answer the questions raised you want to delete us!

For your information we are already signed up as a trader, just waiting on it to go through. (Look out for our banner ads in the meantime)

i am NOT slagging off your bloody company. you just seem to use every comment as a way of advertising. wait until you get a buisness thread and do it there.

this is a god damn car forum not a place for you to hock your goddamn buisness.

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
