Lol, you believe a youtube sound clip? That is obviously not just swapping the front pipes. It's the mufflers that change the note, not the pipes.

I agree, it makes little difference to the price, although there are many more bends and you will be sacrificing flow for this equal length nonsense. I like to tuck my systems up, not have them hanging down lower. Each to their own I guess.

This was Daz's car, he already had a twin 3 inch system, I am just making it work with the taller block.

I have done a few twin 3 into 4 inch systems, usually tapering back to 3.5 at the mid muffler.

I can post sound clips of mine....

Same exhaust, only thing i changed was a JJR unequal length pipe to the Fujitsubo equal length.

Exhaust note was very different.....

shit yeah let me hear the Fuji front pipe

My Racepace twin three inch with equal length front pipes sounds nothing like that. The only place it merges is at the rear diff to sneak past it.

I have a few videos of it on the dyno. I'll post some up when I get home. Photo bucket is not playing this morning.

thanks Piggaz iv got a tomei stroker too so should be the best comparison yet.

When RPM built my car I asked about the difference and they let me know it's only sound. I would have gone one of their tuned length ones but didn't due to trying to limit costs at that stage, didn't. In retrospect I should have gone with the equal length as that's what my car had previously and they do sound awesome.

I am terribly sorry that I used evidence to give you an example. Or maybe the fact that I also changed front pipes to equal length ones and the note changed of the exhaust. Oh and didn't touch the timing nor manifolds. Now you are calling me simple minded? Give me some credit at least.

But I don't know why we are arguing. You are clearly wrong and now it seems you are just hell bent on being right.

That is not the topic of discussion here.

The issue is phones have sound cancelling and make for very bad Youtube recorders. Simple minded? You must be if you think I somehow said that in my post.

The clip clearly had a deep exhaust and a buzzy pos one. Front pipes don't change the sound like that, well not that much. I agree it can be slightly different, usually due to the material. The mild system I just fitted was a little tinny due to the mild piping, I don't get that with the stainless pipes I use.

Sacrificing power for sound, how very GTR. :P

my 2cents:

I think you've tried making one in the past and you probably stuffed it up or found it to be quite difficult so you decided to convince yourself and your customer that it does nothing and is a waste of time.

don't be offended a lot people take this approach.

when clearly people are changing nothing other than a front pipe and reporting first hand that IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN SOUND AND..."some" also report slight power gains.

MINES have also been known to make pretty good cars and they clearly state that they are only interested in modifications that make a DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
