Scotsman
Ferni - I ended up getting a 1:41.55 in my last session of the day. Which felt pretty fast from the inside of the car. Snowman
Snowman - going to do the HSV sprints at Sandown (8 August) or the WRX Club sprints at Sandown (15 August)? Mate - am running the Dutton from August 6-8 so will be giving those events a miss. But as posted earlier am going to look at Phillip Island later in August. The next NDSOC/MSCA event is the hill climb at Rob Roy which doesnt overly excite and the following is Phillip Island in Sept so going and having a practice weekend with PIARC sounds good to me. Snowman
Funky - Calder every Wed and Winton every Friday are open and don't need a CAMS. Just a helmet and ankle to wrist clothing. And put it this way - if it wasnt for our 5 cars at Winton there would have been 3 others on the track. A quick HSV (hate to admit it but it was damn fast) some yellow thing and a super quick Ford Focus racing car. ferni
impressive chris, 1.41 well done Funky still worth getting your car out there mate, good to see what it can do, and handling would be more important than power on a track like winton. the HSV wasn't THAT fast... aggressive driver, good rubber and it must of had handling work done on it, give me some sticky rubber, my handling kit and about another year or so to learn how to drive and i'll whoop it as for the ford focus..... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/45701-team-wang-racing-winton-report/page/3/#findComment-930421 Share on other sites

GTRgeoff
I'm Kel. I don't have any balls but still like a bit on the track You can check me out on the NSW Dutton Rally Speedweek coverage or in the next edition of Fast Fours  Are you the star in the Beemer with the panel damage? good one, you were so cool about it. Guys and girls. if you are interested in a track day then just make sure everything is working good, especially brakes and come along. You don't need to have a setup that will challenge Jim Richards' Porka at targa. The first few times will just be learning anyway. Take it from someone who has spent a lot of time on the track in open wheelers and sports sedans. The faster you are going the less time there is to concentrate on actually learning to drive. As the pic says, It takes 2 balls (or the mental equivalent, Kel) and be prepared to have some fun. No-one, I repeat, no-one will take the piss if you are prepared to come and try so Just Do It. Kami, what exactly is Wang stlye ? Pm me. I spent some time in Wang myself years ago working. Definitely didn't touch any schoolies though.
