Lol.

When I sold my GTR the guy came over from SA, and drove it back nek minit in a few months was back on carsales for 5k more than he bought it off me for.. not sure if he wanted to try and make money or realized it was a bit rusty.

My pay has been super inconsistent this FY so should see a healthy return. Should cover the bill Havoc is going to foot me next week for the pulsar. One of those proper GTR-style, open-chequebook, ass-raping, "just get it done" type of operations.

(Though anything is cheaper than a $900 racepace catch can)

But I though the things happening now were my fault?

For the purposes of this story, yes, of course.

Never missed a beat when I had it. I would consider another evo TBH

I've got one if you're interested.

I'd let it go for a grand less than I bought it for... 'Mates Rates' and all that.

Come at me tax return.. last year had to pay 2.5k with capital gains taxes on shares :( (comm bank, not 88e, do I claim a loss with 88e this year? :P)

Then it's intercooler time :D

I'm due for capital gains. And yes, if you made a loss on shares then claim a capital loss so that it offsets future gains. You can carry forward the loss as long as you keep reporting it each year.

Sold my shares so I could write down a loss, will buy back in EOFY.

Next year start your own charity foundation and funnel money into the local footy team?

Year after that start family trust and funnel money into that?

Stick it to the man, yo

Seems like a lot of work, all for a measly few cents x 10^8

Think I'll just find myself an old rich woman to marry.

Unrelated, does anyone know how to disguise the taste of arsenic? I'm asking for a friend.

Strychnine = fairly tasteless and odourless

I actually recall a story of someone who was being poisoned by their spouse, and because the doses were so low initially, they built up something of an immunity to the particular poison and by the end of it (think they actually survived) the dose they were receiving was enough to kill a horse.

nek minit in a few months

u wot m9

pfft noob

just mute volume. go do something else, come back. repeat. if its a well-designed test you can flick back through previous slides.

I know someone who outsourced their job to India, kept themselves on the payroll and basically passively/lazily worked it - IT related job so they didn't have to be onsite most of the time anyway. They got caught eventually though lol, those outgoing calls to and from Mumbai add up...

Speaking of IT kunce, are any of you/them normal?
Been working at a large data centre since Jan and the amount of f**kin weird f**ks that come in there is astounding. It'd be easier to count the normal-ish ones.

RE: capital gains and losses, clearly I've experienced plenty of the latter...Can you actually claim that as a loss at tax time? Was under the impression you had to pay on gains but just bend over and cop the loss, in typical government rape fashion.

You can claim it as a loss but it doesn't offset your income tax as it's a separate tax to it.

So what happens is, in future if you make a profit (capital gain) on something like property or other shares, the tax you would ordinarily have to pay on that profit can be negated by any losses from previous financial years.

You basically take the loss in the ass until you make a profit and then the loss becomes useful.

Let's say you lose $2k on 88E in one financial year and make 800k on selling your house in another financial year, say 5 years from now, if you kept carrying the loss forward then you won't have to pay capital gains on 2k of your 800k profit.

    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
