post sedan for sale- clearly state it will be bare from the front doors forward and no wheels
"hey bro, how much for the wheels? are the indicators still available?"

So people are basically being you... to you... and this bothers you...

Thought you'd be more shocked that someone in VWL is actually heeding the advice of other VWLers for once

Hardly, all in would be to stay in it and actually make some money...when I told people not to sell at a loss they didn't listen. If they followed my exact moves they'd be paying capital gains.

I'm just glad I sold my CBA's when I did at about $85 they did go up a tiny bit more but not for long and now they're down to $75, more luck than anything else

Dumb question, is there any good BUDGET detailers? Somewhere where you can just go on a very low notice and get a reasonable to OK job of interior detailing because majorly CBF and car looks pretty shit 95% of the time anyway?

By "good enough" I mean good enough to think "oh yep, that's cleaner now" but with 0 desire to actually take a photo of it.

I would suggest doing it yourself.

mainly because the vaccuum will likely create a spark near a fuel leak and you car will likely be burned saving you (and by proxy, us) from many more years of heartache

I paid 32 bucks at one of those shopping center joints for a exterior wash / polish actually turned out not half bad. Why not just go to somewhere like this?

My car was shocking after taking it through dirt roads.

inb4 "dose guys scratch your car doe"

Yeah the thing is my lovely better half is eventually going to respray the car so scratches not really that concerned right now.

Would take to shopping centre, Was curious if any are known as being better or worse than others. Maybe someone knew, etc.

I currently DIY it and I do a decent enough job for myself but I always figure paying someone would get a better result, every now and then.

Given my effort is a few wipes over the plastic to remove dust and occasionally wash the mats and a little 12v vaccuum I own, I don't have massively high expectations, I only washed the mats because I managed to break a take away curry all over the mat... and washed it after about 10 days later, so that'll give you some idea of the quality of job I am looking for

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
