What's your budget?

i kinda mentioned earlier-I know it's a bit vague but about 2-3k now, 3-4k in next 2 weeks(after tax) & the rest will be spent over next few months(as I save up a bit). Am planning on holding on to this r34 & making w/e & project car. Have another car

I had considered selling the entire box and transmission setup if the torque converter I am getting built doesn't end up doing what I want the car to do very well

(someone may want it for a different application, i.e drag)

But in all honesty, get the manual

If you would like to me expand on it, you should really, really, really get the manual.

To expand further, the gearbox has cost me closer to 10K to get it to where it is, which is good, but unless the TC from TCE makes it better than a manual (arguable!) you're at least, least, least spending 10K to get to the level where a $0 manual gearbox is at.

get the manual

You have spent more than most with the auto controller etc, but by far the best drivability from any built auto I have driven.

When comparing to the manual box, remember a decent clutch to hold 4-450kw is over 2 grand. And it wouldn't last long at that power without a gearset. You could potentially spend similar coin on the manual setup.

REALLY....10k!!! I don't mind spending 10k on all mods(eventually) but you are right, I can't justify 10k just on the trans box. Sh$&! Manual is fun but I live in Melbourne's North & hard to enjoy due to traffic, stop start of all roundabouts & the speed cameras are everywhere now(I'm not an irresponsible hoon & don't condone it on streets). But just going 2-3 kms over=ticket, points gone-no license. Sorry about essay ha

also Kinkstaah(was it Gregg?), I meant before are you looking to sell entire car?

mmmhhh....interesting Scotty, & thanks so much. I didn't think of that. I wouldn't even mind spending 2-3k more to get high hp Auto r34 going. Like manual, love Auto. now all I need is to win lotto & get dual clutch r35 haha

Nah mate. Seen it with my own 2 eyes. Skidz 4 dayz

WOW, I'm impressed! I've worked with a lot of Auto Shops in Melbourne with marketing & ads & could never find something that high! That's like over 1k hp! Tip my hat. What State?

do you think Auto r34 could ever get close to those numbers?

As stated earlier-recently sold one, am sifting through jap auctions to buy gtt as we speak(also considering Vic market). Sorry, Can't tell, you guys Gtstboy & Ben c34 being sarcastic or genuine?

gtsboy likes deers. and benc34 wants an na 34, so he's asking to gauge whether you'd be interested in selling yours.

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
