Hi All,

Yes.. I know this topic has been beaten to death, however im in a bit of a predicament (1st world problems) and would like your assistance :)

I just got my car tuned on e85 running 2859-9 turbos, the car made 355rwkw on 20psi  however i was informed that my current exhaust was holding back the turbo (and response). I am currently running a turbo back (3inch?) titanium fujitsubo exhaust which is a twin pipe design and flows out into one larger muffler with an Apexi Cat, it is super quiet which i love, unfortunately max output is 350kw.. I was advised to go for a 3.5 - 4inch exhaust but the problem is i cant find any for a R34 GTR! I can only find ones that fit R33 (i.e. HKS hiper) that are reasonably high flowing.

Does anyone know any other exhaust manufacturers that will help solve my issue? I cant seem to find resellers either :(

Or if anyone wants my quiet titanium exhaust for their louder free flowing exhaust, happy to trade with cash adjustments! :D

+1 for the HKS super turbo muffler. It is straight through design with no restrictions or reduced diametetrs inside the mufflers. I just bought one second hand on BidJDM for $500 plus shipping. Quiet too for a straight through design. Have a look on youtube.

Check out AM Performance - they did my Titanium 3.5".  They're Adelaide based but Andrew can make one regardless - just make sure you're running an R34 sized cat, not an R33 one (shorter).

Will suss them out too! Another titanium would be nice

Get the entire exhaust. Remove it from your car and flog it on ebay. You can build a very very good 4" system that is very free flowing with a nice quiet note and no drone. Honestly, the off the shelf stuff is literally shart.

I have almost the exact same combo, but I have cams.

I had my fabricator make me a custom setup so my exhaust is as follows.

  • HPI 3" Dumps.
  • HPI 3.5" front pipe.
  • Full 3.5" Vband exhaust, "special high flow cat".
  • Magna flow mid muffler.
  • Apexi Evolution Rear muffler.

Car is quite and makes good power.

I will say you wont make much more power by changing exhaust until you put cams in it.

Ill have a look into it. It seems custom is the way to go. Will speak to an exhaust shop, i wouldnt mind modifying the HKS exhaust, however if i can get the same quality if not better for cheaper then will take a different route.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
