Looks amazing. Keep a good layer of your preferred sealant on it, boy do reds love to fade lol

definitely going to protect is as much as I can lol.  Gettin the main dash painted to match and then bolting up all the carbon fiber pieces.

You're painting the dash? Which parts?

basically the whole main dash itself.  i have a carbon fiber glove box, carbon fiber radio bezel down through the entire center console, the steering surround, and the gauge cluster surround.  I also have a sheet metal rear seat delete and sheet metal door cards that I am going to have hydro dipped carbon fiber to match as close as I can.

so what colour are you poainting the dash itself?

red to match the car.  I just got a truck from someone that has a paint matched dash and I love it so I am going to do the same to the skyline.  only way to really "modernize" the dash so the interior doesnt look so dated.

Well, it's not my style, but it's your car and you've got to love it.

If re-sale matters to you, I would strongly suggest not doing that particular mod, but if that's not a concern, go wild and enjoy it :D

I will be buried in this thing at this point.  There is way too much money wrapped up in it to ever bother selling it.  When I say ground up, I mean ground up.  There's not many parts or pieces that havent been upgraded or replaced with new oem parts.  It will basically be a brand new car that I plan on driving every damn day! haha

Bold move! Need to see how it ends up

follow the build.  now that it will be back at my house tomorrow, I get to really start digging into it and putting it all back together!

Will do! I'm two steps behind you but probably close to 45k AUD deep into my rebuild... Always a comfort to see someone else go all out too ?

Im almost 75k USD into mine so far but Im about all in. Not much left to buy at this point.  Its all piled up in my basement ready to go.

Best type of insanity! My worst fear at the moment is that my car will get too good, that the driving will feel dull since I can't use its potential.

Oh well, back to topic, this is your thread after all! You went with a trigger kit, s13 subframe and newer color. Got any other modification to share with the rest of us? Found the thing that will make it truly your car? (maybe the dash?)

Better than drugs right?!  I also went drive by wire with a 350z pedal and a ctsv throttle body.  Going full air suspension and all gktech adjustable arms.  Shaved door handles and trunk lock.  Trying to go neo power steering pump to get rid of the dual stage pump, hopefully I can get that to work.  Engine was rebuilt.  New gaskets, rings, and seals.  Poncams and adjustable pulleys.  Cant think of anything else thats too crazy lol.

    • Big enough for you, Jackie, and some puppers mate! I vote some GSDs, but I am biased   How big of a block is it on?
    • Well, fun day was had, I finally found a house that will do me just fine, 1980's brick build, but with full fresh renovations, plus new colour bond fencing all round so puppies are incoming 🐕, and water tanks for the garden, and it's located in West Goulburn..... @Duncan 🫡, so day trips to Wakie to watch cars going Zoom will be on the cards In the end it cost well under my budget and was actually better than alot of the more expensive joints I was looking at, it is in a good area, close enough to the shops, public transport, and the Wollondilly River Weir,  and the great walking paths along the river, but far enough away from town to see minimal traffic The deposit is dropped, the conveyancer is conveyancing and I should get the keys in a week or 2 as the property is currently unoccupied  As with everything I own, I'm doing up a modifications list, as it doesn't have solar, that is first up on the big list, all of the panels and enough batteries to keep the joint warm, or cool, followed by a largish carport out the front, the small list, which will start as soon as I have keys, is some security stuff, like cameras, screens, and the usual "crazy prepper" additions that weird old people like (mouse holes to stick shot guns out of, and the usual man traps that the average person installs for the unsuspecting and unwanted guests 🤣) The gardens front and back are OK, but, not to my standards or liking, so landscaping will be a fun job to start getting into, so when spring is sprung I'll do a heap of planting, lots of natives and vegetables is the plan, the old owners were more "Old English Garden" type, so basically Roses and other weird looking things that are destined for the green waste bin One thing that is staying garden wise is a nice established hedge out the front, it is about 5 foot tall and covers the whole front of the property from prying eyes As for the car hoist, the roof in the garage has some height to it, but, I'll need to get an installer out to see what can be done, width wise may be a issue, but my building inspector will be getting back to me over the next week with his recommendations  Small, but cosy
    • I tried to get in contact before I went to QLD you didn’t respond, then I tried to contact you in r31 club.  I thought you fell off the earth or something haha.  I will grab it off you but unknown when I will be up that way
    • I think that might be in the question. He is going very low, and I think the standard GTR ones are simple tripod joints (like the rear NA/S chassis ones), not proper CVs (like R chassis turbo/GTR ones). Proper CVs take the misalignment better than tripods.
