So he is back at home in one piece (if you dont count tyre rubber falling off). After 3 months bouncing from shop to shop to shop we have him settled down and asleep now.

i didn’t get to show you guys the new diff cover so here it is

great bit of kit from greddy holds just under 2.5l of oil so it should make the diffs last a little longer. This time I went for a 4.3 nismo 2way still have the 4.1 nismo 2way there for a spare. Car wasn’t built to do 300kph but more like 250kph on a race track just means that I’m pulling 3300rpm at 100-110kph but for the acceleration that it has gained should lower my 1/4 mile times over running a 3.9.

Now to the numbers part that everyone wants.

So as you can see low boost well not really low boost but waste gate pressure at 14.5psi the car makes 375wkw and a crap load of torque not like the old low of 398wkw but feels a lot faster off the line and to a speed.

High boost tho 467wkw is massive and I haven’t even been tempted to flick the switch yet. Conditions will have to be 110% for me to hot that power as the old one was only 444wkw but this power comes on 500rpm faster with the help of the new exhaust and still goes all the way to redline but does die off a little bit that’s due to the 12cm rear housings on the HX40rs yes a 40 with a 12 on it. It’s a mse turbos custom to suit my cams and exhaust mani and the way I wanted to make power this will be changed at a later date for a 16cm rear to see what it can make on pump.

Power at the engine is pretty bloody good to. So Queation can I tell people it’s a 500kw car now?

We also go a new style of launch control. We have a button on the steering wheel that when pressed at a given rpm will move the rev limiter to that set rpm. So, if I rev the car up to 5500rpm and press and hold the button, it will move my limit to 5500, as long as the button is pressed the car won’t rev pass set rpm but can still rev freely from 1000-5500. Makes launching the car 100000 times better as when you dump the clutch you can leave your finger on until traction is made then release and you should be off. On that note is you set it to 3000rpm it will still build boost. Will take from videos tomorrow so you all can see it in action.

Apart from that still waiting for parts to arrive but have been cleaning him for the last 4hrs as it was long over due and more cleaning to be had tomorrow.

Just found this, nice to see a Kiwi build - very solid power delivery.  Couldn't find any detail of the engine, guessing its some kind of RB30/25 setup?

Some kinda of 30/25 hahaha no way man this is 25/25 matching heads and motor from factory.  Secrets are in the build haha.  Nothing crazy here just making sure each part helps the next part. I do have a full list some where in my draws

Wow, no need to talk like I'm an idiot - I was kinda trying to set up to be complimentary if it was an RB25, it wasn't inconveivable that it would be an RB25 - but it was getting into the area of some RB30 results I've seen which is why I asked for confirmation.  Definitely combo is working well, one of the best RB25 results I've seen and probably the best I've seen in terms of power delivery using an HX40... nice work.

Wasn’t talking to you like an idiot. If it came across that way I’m sorry.

Still got a lot of room to breath with the hx40, it’s still running a 12cm rear from a 35/2, once the 16cm rear comes in we will swap the 2 over and go again. COVID has put this car so far behind its a little frustrating. MSE turbos hasn’t had any gear turn up so there is no point changing the injectors for nothing’s. Turbo was only ment for 600bhp and we have pushing 100 passed that

So been busy making the house pretty and in turn I’m allowed to spend money on the car.

Mirrors turned up and as did the door cards.

There sitting on a Advan racing 15x8.25 with a 20offset. No spacer behind them. There only 1/2 inch off the rolling diameter of my 18s I run.

Chrome was an epic weekend got my first couple runs on Hoosiers, it was only roll racing but it was good to get a feel for them before I hit the strip with them. Those that have used them it’s an uneasy feeling having the rear of the car kind of float down the track but was told just to keep it flat and just go with it.

Friday and Sunday where the only days that the track was hot enough for me to be able to use high boost and holy heck 620hp it just so much fun but the 123s in 265 real struggle to hold the power down so going to look at a custom set of work rims to suit the rear ended and make the most of the guard room I have.

Drag racing is well fingers crossed starting up in 6weeks so I have time to get it set and ready to run a 10. Car will run an easy 11 as I was doing 12.3 on semi slicks.

Hope everyone is keeping safe

So yesterday was the first meeting of the comp session. First time running quick time pros.

Was so much fun and had a ball going to head back in 2 weeks and try and go faster

As you can tell I have a lot to learn in how to get the car off the line but that should come with more seat time. But over all super super happy with how the car ran. Huge bonus was running and 11.7 straight off the trailer in low boost then hitting it back with a 11.3 so even on low boost it was 10s in it.

Cant wait to get back out there

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
