Trying to find a straight forward answer and see if anyone has had any experience with a 20det ecu in a plus T.
So I have a 20de ecu running in my plus T, stock injectors have been cleaned and a walbro 255 installed with adjustable fpr. It runs fine, boost fine, only on 5psi to be safe but looking to bump it up to about 7-10psi and was wondering if the red 20det injectors will work with the install of a 20det R32 ecu, I have found someone saying the timing is different and therefore will pre ignite etc. Surely someone has experience with this, my other option is a $130 speedlab chip for a plus T to run with red injectors.

Oh sorry, I will try again. Yeah will work sweet. That's why every does it and reccomends it all the time.

Is that a better answer? May be the one you are looking for?

Bingo - you get the prize - that's the answer he was looking for !

But Nistune makes better sense ...

Not sure what your point is Rusty. I didn't read all the way through but the main point is most people (except a fellow Kiwi I know!) used some kind of tuning device - power fc or emanage etc.  No one is saying that you can't add a turbo to a DE motor (although its not the best option) but rather that its difficult to account for different compression ratios, injectors etc without any means of tuning as the OP proposes.

Nope asking if anyone has done it? no one deals with nistune in my area otherwise that’d be fine

Nistune tuners were hard to find when I started modifying my RB centuries ago so I had a guy modify an R32 ecu to suit but by now most tuners have come on board even though they would rather sell you a Link or a Motec. What is you nearest city?

Wellington region

OK my contacts are in Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch but try a PM to Lithium  on this site and ask him if he knows anyone who will tune Nistunes in Wellington. You can buy the actual board direct from Nistune but they sometimes come up on TradeMe.

    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
