Nah.

with they GPS i tried to transfer the Australian maps onto it and updating it and not been able to get anywhere yet.

best i can do is Android Auto and then it all comes up Australian.

Everything else is in English so there is no problem there.

its just the GPS that won't give me anywhere else but Japan.

Wondering if i could buy a Nissan screen from a wrecker and swap it out but im sure its a long shot as it seems alotta stuff for the vehicle is held in these units.

So potentially worse than AUDM RedSport? :(

Looks better, has better safety features and android auto/carplay.

Sounds better to me

you can pick up a 2018 AuDM RS for around $30k, can you really get a 2023 JDM V37 for that?  If so I may need to consider one... :)

There are 2 on car sales under $30k, $45k+ is the asking price for every other RS. I'd say they are either bargains, scams or listing errors. $50k approx gets you a 5 year newer jap import with a nav screen you can't read :)

Base models are readily available around 30k and would be much better value as a tuning start platform.

at $45k, might be why they are still for sale.  Redbook range is $25-33k for a 2018 RS.

There is also a 2019 400R for $62k and a 2020 for $56k on carsales.  So I would expect a 2023+ to be more.

Personally, I don't think the JDM version looks much better, tails do. but front? meh.., so for that sort of $ difference, I would take a late AuDM Q50 and put a bit aside for new turbos when they go, but everyone has their preferences..

Hmmm, seems like these things are car of the week....we bought a q50 Red Sport today too (ironically, the one I said a few posts above is probably dodgy  )

Goes good for a stocker. Brakes and tyres need doing all round and it is way overdue for an oil change, but it seems good otherwise.

It was weird to be able to see (and even drive!) a car before I bought it, most stuff I get 2 or 3 grainy pics and an auction sheet I can't read, followed by a 4 month wait to see what I ended up with

Nissan Oz are too busy trying to decide whether we need a Qashqai or Xtrail (whatever the difference is), really not a new issue. At least we can import cars they decided not to directly, at much better value.

BTW can I confirm ADM Q50 all have no spare tyre (just goop)? Is that the same in JDM skyline? I'm going to need to sort something, I can't do billions of highway klm without a spare

My Q50 doesn't even have 'goop', it comes standard with runflats, so no spare, no jack, no goop, nothing.  No idea what the JDM models come with.
I bought a 370Z donut (needs to be at least 18in to clear the akebonos), a spare jack and wheel brace and I throw that in the boot when I go out of town, saves having to spend the $$ and endure the downsides of runflat tyres.

Apparently if you are creative, you can make yourself a replacement boot base out of high density foam and fit the donut under the boot mat, but you lose about 100mm of boot depth.

I always drive with the tire pressure gauges showing the PSI because I'm paranoid about getting a flat tire and not knowing then keep driving and tear it apart. No amount of goo is going to fix a shredded tire.

My Q60 has the goo and the V36 had the goo too. Never used it but I have used the pump to pump up the tire to get home. Then I fixed it with a plug. Wasn't keen on the goo.

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
