Anyone ever heard of these guy's?http://www.slideindustries.com.au/product_p/tk-ni-rb.htm

He claims the turbo's and manifold are not made in China.

I've heard of them... Tats too... wouldn't know about the made in China thing though.

Not sure if coincidence but there used to be a place called Sliding Performance in Brisbane that used to sell performance parts.

I'd be wanting to know if they're the same place cause those guys stuffed me and a lot of guys around on orders before they were removed as SAU sponsors.

THE CAR IS READY!

Finally!

I think you need to chuck a sickie and go get it.

Not sure on insurance as I'm Old, but Shannons works for me.

Who is the 33 insured thru? Hit them up.

THE CAR IS READY!

Going to hopefully pick it up Friday or organise someone to pick it up tomorrow.

Now suggestions for comprehensive insurance for a 23 year old male with no crash/suspension history?

Have you organised someone to pick it up for you? where is it located? If you need a lift tomorrow let me know

Nick was nice enough to sell me his R34 GTR VSPEC II NUR model kit. So got some things to help me out and build it !!!

I'll be going a Bayside blue (Redbull blue) instead of MJade as they didn't have the colour :(

So I got to see/drive the car for tonight. Staying at my Aunty and uncles and it's parked out the front.

I was filled with excitement and the car looks amazing, the paint is great and I love the pearl in the dark. First impressions when I went for a drive was that surprisingly enough my 33 feels 10x better to drive.

I think the coilovers are shot so they will need pulling out and replacing with some nice springs & shocks. The clutch feels a lot different because I'm so used to my heavy duty clutch and my loose gearbox.

Right now the rims are rubbing on the guards and have cracked the paint under it, similar to what happens when you try roll them without heating them.

No backfires or anything but I took it easy because it's got no insurance and needs a good service. Wheel alignment is needed and probably all the suspension looked at.

Very happy with the purchase though and I can't wait to get into some modding when I get back from NZ.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
