  1. seeing as i'm at home today I took a quick cold start video
  2. I would really not encourage anyone to use those FIVEO highflows. I've had one fail and so have many many other people, I met someone the other day who had one fail on the dyno and lunched a motor. While their warranty RMA service is awesome, shipping is $50 each way and the downtime is roughly 2 weeks. I would encourage people to do a top-feed conversion for anything above 740cc sidefeeds which are the nismo injectors. I believe Deatchworks make a 950cc sidefeed injector but they've been priced out of the market from memory. edit: also I can't get a factory like idle. AFR's between 11 and 18 at idle (not stable). and Cold starting takes about 6 to 8 seconds of cranking. never again
  3. It has definitely been highflowed. I can't tell you who by though.
  4. If you've got the stock snails run the stock ecu. Pull the boost restrictor out though. Also these cars are old now, no denying that. Get it checked on a dyno incase the AFR's aren't acceptable or if its knocking. Also get them to set your base timing while you're there. That way you will know for sure if its safe to run that jap-tune which are often quite knife edge in terms of timing. Plus you'll get a sweet dyno sheet to show your facebook mates how big your dick is
  5. That was difficult to read. Just take it to the tuner if it starts on the factory ecu but not the PFC then theres your problem
  6. you got the R33 highflow from hypergear? I have that turbo on e85. heaps of power in the top end unlike most other highflows. Toshi said it feels like an SS1pu but I wouldn't know
  7. yeah pretty likely. what turbo set up have you got to justify 272's?
  8. I guess you could compare a motor with the same head and cams if they are both timed spot on. too many factors would make it unreliable but it could give you an idea. I should get skyrine to do a full comp test of his fresh motor once it's finished seeing as we have the same spec ideas. Actually if you're reading this Skyrine can you tell me which head gasket you used? I've read that the factory HG is 1.3mm can someone confirm that? Cheers
  9. yeah most likely. You'll have some issues if you've got a full piping kit though
  10. bummer. This would look more stock than one of those cheapo anodised top feed rails and could probably have been done quite cheaply at home
  11. spacers don't sound like the right way to fix it. I'm sure it could work but I think the better option is having the flange adjusted. I wouldn't be happy after shelling out for one of the big name's manifolds then it not going together as planned.
  12. need higher than that for e85. maybe in a 30psi full time track car
  13. What's stopping you from swapping the top half as well?
  14. I'd love the skill to be able to make my own exhausts but it doesn't cost too much to get a nice one made up for you. That way you can choose your own mufflers too. I love how people state their power target and then 12 months later the car makes double that and they've gone 4x over their budget! good luck mate edit: you beat me to it, you could always shop around for mufflers and bring them to the shop if you don't like what they use. Personally I dislike cannons as well but they do perform
  15. You'll need an aftermarket fuel reg too. Fiddly install but certainly not impossible
  16. Okay I can't actually move forward with this build until I sell the superkart. I've got to move on this trailer and kart for garage space and now that the 25 is running again I'm not rushed for this build. If anyone knows anyone that is interested in a superkart that is capable of getting into the 61 second laps at Wakefield let me know. I've personally done 1:02.3 but that was it's only race event ever and there's still more fine tuning to do.
  17. out of those 2. bang for buck GT3076. but look up hypergearturbos.com and they have dyno sheets on RB25's for most of their turbos. for 300kw on P98 internally gated on the factory manifold you could probably do that with the SS2. You can do it with an R34 highflow I think too which is guaranteed direct bolt on + stock looking
  18. wrong fuel. E85 master race checking in
  19. Yeah its not like he's running a microfossil
  20. You can make 300 on your current turbo, your current engine. not sure what your injectors are i think you mentioned 550cc. that might be enough wind 20psi through the stock motor on that turbo. t66 is massive by today's standard BTW. I reckon you'll get 300 pretty easy. above 20psi and you want to do some headwork I believe but maybe you can squeeze a bit more boost on the factory valvesprings seeing as the turbo is so big.
  21. My car's fixed and I haven't run it at the strip since the e85 tune. Anyone coming tomorrow? Also I need a new helmet does anyone know where to get a cheap one that will pass scrutineering?
  22. injector "problem"
  23. attaboy too many people swap out turbos and expect the thing to work. in Nistune there are separate fuel/timing maps called the knock maps. I'm 90% sure it triggers from exceeding a certain knock threshold. Also I don't know how good the factory knock sensors are. could someone weigh in here? edit: I think people often mix up R&R with hitting the boost cut
  24. yeah I'd be more worried about the actual diameter of the chamber rather than where it goes flat on the sides. but ballpark seems to be good enough anyway. I don't know how much you could get away with taking out of the head. A combination of thin HG around 1mm and head + deck skimming might get you there
  25. haha its simpler than you think. I figured that if the combustion chamber is close enough to 86mm in diameter at the base of the head (which it isn't exactly) then the height of a cylinder with volume 10cc's (10,000mm^3) and diameter of 86mm is 1.72mm V=pi x r^2 x height if the lengths are in mm then volume has to be mm^3 obviously
