  1. AFM gives a 0-5v reading to the Ecu based on airflow (duh) The z32 gives better resolution for higher airflow. The factory r33 Afms hit a 5v wall at around 220rwkw worth of airflow. The z32s go much higher, around 550 crank hp according to nistune
  2. This is good advice. If 2nd hand motors are cheap enough then you won't cry when it explodes so push it!Buy a good turbo first
  3. bump. looking for -9's or HKS GTSS's thanks
  4. perfect timing stao I just bought a GTR
  5. do you know roughly where your compression is at?
  6. Offer beer and you will get results! I've only got non neo cas lying around, which is a shame because I'm thirsty!
  7. yeah splitfires have never let me down running 20 psi and I know there are people who use them with much more boost than that
  8. What was the result in the end if you don't mind me asking? Did you sort out the turbo/money? I know it's not right to be talking negatively about a workshop/supplier but if they are down right scamming people then fair play I say
  9. A fuel injected engine will keep running under huge amounts of extra exhaust pressure so long as it can get fresh intake air Stopping the turbo from spinning doesn't seal anything. People have seized turbos from lack of oil or w/e and still been able to drive home from the strip haha
  10. I'm not 100% sure on this but a quick google would tell you. The factory front diff is open which would cause each wheel to spin opposite directions when spun by hand with the car in gear. a 2 way wouldn't want to spin in gear, but in neutral both wheels would spin the same direction. Have a go and report back edit: Thinking I might be wrong now... someone weigh in please
  11. Whereabouts did you get your 1.5 way centre for the front diff? I've got the engine out at the moment and I'm definitely thinking of changing the diff before re-installing the engine
  12. OP this is very important. Myself among others have had to ship a single injector halfway across the world at own cost. Waste of time
  13. yes of course but the numbers are arbitrary
  14. i just want to mention that reading torque from a dyno graph is absolutely useless unless it's an engine dyno. don't compare your torque figures to other peoples, it doesn't make sense to do so. torque changes with leverage so using a different gear or even different size wheels will yield a different result. It is also possible to get much more torque at the wheels than at the engine (unlike power). so forget about it! if you really want to upgrade your turbo look at what Matt said. My choice would be the HTA3582. It will be more responsive and have more top end than your current turbo
  15. Rb26 isn't really much of a street engine hey. VCT is awesome
  16. Yeah in NSW I remember reading something about changing displacement by a certain percentage is okay. But after calculating whatever that percentage was, an RB30 is not suitable for a car that comes with an RB25 but the RB26 is all G meh, most people don't bother because no policeman/woman will read the engine number when they pull you over
  17. I'll take the O2 sensor bungs. How much posted to 2063?
  18. I thought we were about due for this thread again
  19. well if you're in Japan then forget about a highflow from Australia.. Too hard mate, you've got so much good cheap local stuff it's not worth it. Look at the Kinugawa thread or one of the HKS options. HKS GTRS is a good turbo, it probably won't meet your expectations but it's definitely one of the more responsive options
  20. yep nistune is the way to go for you. Power limitation? bullshit
  21. What fuel are you going to use and I'm going to assume you will boost it to it's absolute maximum. very few of those turbos you listed will make 400rwhp on an RB20 on petrol
  22. Is the Ecu a L or D-jetro? Is it afmless? Cheers
  23. As the title says I'm after a set of -9's or -7's let me know what you've got and how much you want for them. I'll consider any others too just shoot me a PM. I figure it's easier to change these while the engine is out of the car so I might as well do it now.
  24. Thanks for your help mate I appreciate it. I've got a friend who's going to help tomorrow we'll get into it
