    Yeah that's fine, no problem with wanting to work on your project car. Just remember to deep dive into this site, there are many many pages of information that is relevant to whatever you're doing. Just remember parts will be harder to get these days, so research is critical.

    If you're trying to put H3 HID bulb in the original projectors, you're going to have a bad time. You don't even need the mounting brackets to change the shitty halogen projectors out for something decent. Just chop the original ones (I've done this). I also got the metal brackets from Lightwerkz, they were a pretty penny. I reckon you could get some locally cut for cheaper. The Koito bi-LED is an excellent unit, only one I'd consider (or the low-beam only units, I have a bunch to try out). The Morimoto M-LED v2 looks good but haven't seen in person so can't say, but might suffer from strong foreground like most LED units. You are correct about the cooling GTSBoy, the housing isn't large. You could get away with some sort of one-way valve/vent. Otherwise, tried and tested D2S is the way. I really should get around to experimenting with headlights again, have a bunch of OE LEDs and HID units to try out...

    So you've found a bunch of info, or you found nothing? You're not being clear. It seems like you have a lot of reading and searching left to do. You need to ask specific questions for people to help you. If you haven't found answers to your questions, then it's likely that no one else has done it and you'll be a pioneer.

    Anyone who says putting LEDs in shitty 80's projectors is kidding themselves. I challenge you to prove your $50 LED kit is better than a proper HID retrofit. Very easy to do and has been well documented here. You will not get any magical improvement by putting in 10,000 Chinese lumens H1 or H3 LED kit. Nor any 100W blue tinted halogen bulb. If you put a H3 HID kit in, you will end up with two thin pillars of light. Been there, done that, spent hundreds on bulbs.

    Ah good point, back to back testing is a must. I wouldn't say my F45 is quiet as it's a weird hatch with 18" wheels, but my SIL's newish i30 seems to be quieter. My gen 5 Liberty was pretty comfy so mass definitely matters. What about the French? Peugeot?

    If X3 is near new and under warranty, should be pretty good. Otherwise get something better, like Santa Fe
