Yep, get under/behind the dash and start poking around. Have fun!
Reminds me of my R32 clock, it used to turn on for a few minutes every few months, then once a year. Now it has left me completely
Nice pick up. Throw the mushroom rubbish in the bin and look for either a nice paper filter (e.g. Apexi, et al.) or standard air box.
I still miss my old R32 GTS-t. Such a fun car to drive, good on petrol, excellent chassis in standard form that you can enjoy at low speeds.
Jump on the wiki on R31 Skyline Club forum, all your answers await you. IMO pod filter is a waste of time/money. My car had no issues making 109rwkW with standard air box, GTS1 cam and GTS2 extractors (standard ECU). Yes it was a happy dyno haha.
Nice pickup! Hopefully you keep this thread updated with all the DIY repairs. These seem tempting because they drop value hard when warranty ends haha.
You can go for a mild cam. IMO spending money on the SOHC head isn't worth the money, unless you really like the single cam.
You can easily put a VL turbo "kit" on it if you're on a tight budget. But I'd save up and do turbo conversion properly.
Quite a bit of info around here and on a site more focused on the R31 Skyline
Projector is probably at end of thread, wind it the other way. It might have popped out of the screw thread.
So bake it apart, remove shitty halogen projector, install a good D2S projector, aim, assemble and enjoy.
Before sending the car to auctions, owner in Japan probably swapped out suspension for stuff laying around in a workshop or whatever.
But yeah, I'd seriously consider those TEIN streets.
