  1. Swapped fuel filter and pump - its not even coughing now. Tried to start with vac signal disconnected to regulator, also no good. Could a dying ignitor cause this?
  2. Ok plugs are clean and in good condition
  3. Well i had put in a tank of United 100 as my car seemed to like their 98 a bit more than other 98s, and the station i went to didnt sell the 98 anymore. I haven't smelt fuel. I guess its worth checking how the plugs look as that's pretty easy and will let me know if they're wet with fuel or not. They're iridiums so should be more resistant to fouling than coppers. The service manual points to fuel pump, so i'll see if supercrap have a pressure tester and get a new filter while i'm at it. Thanks guys - keep the ideas coming.
  4. Update: no sensor warnings via consult The car was running fine before I parked it, then dead when i came to start it again, so I think spark plugs are unlikely. I'll try to find a vac leak. Needle in a haystack..... cant use the aerostart trick because it doesnt run long enough.
  5. When i try to start the GTR it turns over fine, but coughs to life, and then runs rough and rpm keeps falling until it stalls - which takes about 10 seconds. Throttle doesn't help to raise the revs. What should i check first? I was thinking maybe fuel pump, but its only about 3 years old (sard) so I hope it hasn't died already. Any ideas?
  6. +1, dirty is right. Since the pressure switch stops the compressor from running is should be ok even though there's been no gas in the system.
  7. Oh, and by the way, everyone is a better than average driver.

  9. Photo?
  10. Isn't that usually a toe issue? More toe and it will change direction very readily, so nice for cornering, but have more of a tendency to tramline. I'm running zero toe at the front but I'm only running 255s, and its a good compromise for me. Do you know what your toe setting is now?
  11. Yeah and the assf**king that no cat gives the environment isn't that cool either. It shouldn't make a noticeable difference. And if it does, just add one more psi
  12. IMO that's a valid circumstance to make a complaint about the officer. If that ever happens to me, I'd make an appointment to speak to a senior officer at the station and make an informal complaint.
  13. Brand doesn't matter - spring rate does. What are the rates?
  14. Duncan, do you run factory spec castor? I've wondered if non-spec castor puts a lot of force on those upper arm bushes because they're constrained in that dimension and chop out the bush. IIRC factory spec is 3.? degrees. Also - do these bushes need a press to fit?
  15. Well that's an offer i cant refuse. I've ordered the SPF1202AK. Cheers
  16. They're not as dark as the photos here; http://www.superpro.com.au/find-superpro-parts-for-my-vehicle/part?id=SPF1202AK so i'm guessing they're noltec. Maybe i'll try superpro or whiteline...
  17. Did you use more caster with new arm? Maybe that was why it felt a lot better. You've got me interested tho. Which ones did you get? Much difference in NVH? My car is 95% street.
  18. Damn - must have been someone else then. Maybe BWRGTR.... pretty sure the handle was six uppercase characters. I cant find the thread tho, so.... No, in this case I do mean Light Shockproof, not MTL.
  19. Oh really? That's a bit crap. Maybe i'll try Nismos then. I'll loose the adjustablility but they should last.
  20. If you do end up chucking another stocker in, try Redline Light Shockproof. IIRC TO4GTR broke a few stock boxes, but then it survived after he switched to the Redline. Of course the tiny sample size means the evidence is very weak, but since most people dont break gearboxes at your power level, it might be worth a shot if youre not using it already. Or maybe PM him to see if he thinks. What oil did you use in the broken boxes?
  21. Yes. For track work, many fill the the bottom of the top bump on the dipstick. So about a cm above the full of the hatched area.
  22. So, if the oil is not in the sump, where is it? How the could the head flood with oil? I would have though it was obvious that this would happen before the sump is empty.
  23. The car has nismo radius rods with blue aftermarket adjustable radius rod bushes, which are a couple of years old. I noticed a chunk of bush on the garage floor, so I checked them and both are crumbling. Can anyone guess the brand based on the colour? Noltec? Is there an alternative brand that handles more strain (deformation)? Which brand is working for you?
