nope, still nothing as of COB today I lose motivation to follow this stuff up whilst i'm 3000kms away Though my turbos actually turned up today (ordered late October 2018 after being told they were 'on the shelf') After reading @Dose Pipe Sutututu post about sparesbox and the guy having issues with hypertune it seems i'm certainly not alone... -

haha, you're not wrong there you're welcome to pm me what you'd be willing to pay considering the damaged valve guides and obviously shipping.... -
What are your buying and selling plans?
mr_rbman replied to Steve85's topic in General Automotive Discussion
This topic i think almost changes for me every couple of months... The 32 GTR will always be a main stayer and never sold... The S15 however I toss up whether to sell or not every now and then, I bought it as a car to have fun in but is still registered as at the time I had a work car and therefore nothing to tow it with, now I've moved jobs I've been using the S15 to daily in when i'm back home from site. It's now out of rego and i'm looking to get back into a 4WD dual cab ute that can tow but also do a little bit of off roading in. So now the S15 is at a stage where if i modify further it loses it's relatively comfortable drive..... So do i sell / swap for a track dedicated car so that not another import is lost to track duties... mmmm, I dunno?!?!? I would ideally love a 34 GTR but that would mean all my savings are gone and i dunno if i could live without that security blanket -
R32 Seating Upgrade Help?
mr_rbman replied to kye32gtst's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I personally preferred my 32 (later model) seats to my S15 ones... Definitely found they hugged me better... -

None of the above... :-/ Car was actually driving fine and only blowing a little smoke which I put down to valve stem seals or rear turbo seal... Only reason for pulling motor down was precautionary... adding head studs, oil pump gears, metal head gasket etc... I did buy the car knowing it had a forged rebuild but done by a shop who doesn't specialise in Jap cars so i knew when buying I was taking a risk... I do have a 30 block sitting in the shed that's been there for years but everything I've purchased to date (specifically turbos) has been based around the standard displacement RB26... so i'm kinda dedicated to that now... Looking in to sleeving just that one bore, I'll take a UTT set home from site this swing and check bore thicknesses... -

Received word yesterday arvo (xmas eve) that my head has quite a few issues (broken valve guides etc) and is going to set me back ~$2500 for a refresh :-/ seems rather rich and I know of a head freshly port & polished with oversized valves for around the same $$$ so may as well head down that slope (by god it's a slippery one ) On top of that there appears to be a bit of scoring in cylinder #3 (enough to catch your finger nail) and already being bored to 87mm i'm at a little bit of a crossroad... Mechanics on holiday til the 7th so at least i have a bit of time to think about it (research) Merry xmas to me -
You sure the hi-flo cat isn't just a straight thru?!?! That would certainly cause back firing (flameage...)

Finally got round to pulling the motor down... Thankfully confirmed a few of the items I was told had been used in the build (by previous owner) but had no physical proof of (long nose crank, Eagle rods, ARP rod bolts etc...) But what was more i guess we'll call 'lucky' was how close I came to losing the motor all together... As you can see from the 'standard' oil pump gears it was cracked completely, without destroying itself, one more high RPM launch and i think she would've been cactus. Needless to say I've ordered a new oil pump and billet gears. The engine bay is being painted next week and I've used the opportunity to have my cam covers painted the same as the exterior of the car, loved the old wrinkle black that they were but seems every second person is doing that look now... Should hopefully receive all my other little goodies next week too... 1250cc injectors, ATI harmonic balancer N1 oil pump (Reimax billet gears) Tomei metal head gasket Tomei sump baffle All new genuine (Nissan) water pump, timing belt, tensioner and idler bearings, gaskets, seals, hoses etc (the bank account balance is starting to hurt Also ported the manifold to match turbos and head then painted them using some VHT paint along with the heat shields, we'll see how long it lasts... -

The Stock R33 GTR
mr_rbman replied to Steve85's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
There's no such thing as an Aussie delivered 33 is there?!?!? -
Sounds like a similar issue i've had... You running a Z32?!
-
I realise you probably can't get pump E85 in Alice but have you considered putting the car on E85 from a drum?!? The cost would surely be outweighed by the improved reliability fro starters.....?!?!

Will my Nistune be up to the task? (R32 GTR)
mr_rbman replied to mr_rbman's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ye 570cc injectors will get you nowhere near 400.... Mine should be fairly close to your modification list once finished @Robzilla32, only I'm keeping factory airbox but i'll be running some mild cams and slightly larger turbos... -
