  1. covered in detail in the powerfc faq, its in my sig have a read of it, covers pro's and con's of ljetro and djetro setup no you cant just buy map's and splice them into your normal powerfc and no they wont be a restriction, you will just be hitting the ceiling value for the current pair of afms. upgrade to larger will solve that
  2. the safc can help you run twin afms on a single afm ecu but a single q45 shouldnt be maxing at 280rwkw when you say its maxing what is the problem you are seeing? how are you deterimining that it's maxing? have you tried cleaning it ?
  3. if you run out of afm flow just add another one or get larger ones, run larger twins the pfc faq in my sig covers both afm and non afm setup and the pro's and con's of each setup
  4. well glad theres no damage, a bit surprised though
  5. it probably keeps coming as an issue as its not obvious to use the * trick. can we just edit the php code to make it append % in the like query if the string is less than 3 chars? that would be much easier a new user to the site isnt going to know to add * so they just keep doing the same thing each time
  6. well the topic is around the powerfc as its in the powerfc faq. but the same principal of ljetro (airflow meter) vs djetro (map sensor) still applies. very interesting read. the only reason you woud have poorer fuel economy would be the tune and the time spent on it. there is no reason both cannot have the same fuel economy and power from either afm or map sensor. map sensor will probably take longer to tune and run sinle axis style once target boost is reached (generalisation)
  7. as the others have said - why? revving higher doesnt just give you more magical power average power makes a car fast, focus on that
  8. take it back and ask them, a $1000 for a tune is heaps. i would be happy with $500 at the most. read the pfc faq (in my sig)to find out about your fuel economy and tune types. this will give you some info and help sort it out with the tuner. there is no reason you should loose or power. its all in the tune
  9. this is inaccurate, covered in the powerfc faq in great detail d jetro vs l jetro for both powerfc and other mainstream ecu's you should read it its not a limitation, in fact map gives you less load points making it having less accuracy
  10. power aside the two cars are completely different you are comparing a 1990 32 vs a 1997+ evo the evo would have better average power better traction better handling better seats better interior better brakes better gearbox and so on...
  11. no i mean in terms of a/r sizing as the er34 stocker is larger than the r33 housing and the n/a given its higher compression, flow more exhaust gas?
  12. I accept the nomination
  13. would the rear not be too small?
  14. i ran my PFC with closed loop off for a few months (extensive work on the fuel maps however) getting around 400k's to tank, sometimes slightly under with it on it was consistent over 400k's to a tank so its not the be-all and end all, but it is a good feature to have if the fuel maps havent been tuned properly (lots of time/labour) then economy will suck without working closed loop.
  15. i vote smashed valves (to bits)
  16. fark no good dude rebuild time i think the pistons would be mashed im pretty sure same as timing belt snap
  17. stock afm and injectors will be ok for 240rwkw they will be on border line but should be ok fit a fuel pressure reg so you can squeeze a bit more out of the injectors make sure you replace the stock fuel pump too

    Quick Question

    ask them
  19. Is that 370 divided by 555? its shown clearly in the faq Will it be safe to drive on till i get my tune? as long as you enter the correct settings, it should be fine Im getting a flow report when i get them will that tell me? it may, i am unsure, but you need the latency of them
  20. covered in the powerfc faq, have a read of it (its in my signature)
  21. would be easier to just look at in person what you think ?
  22. z32 is same size as stock afm, so it matches, just plug change covered more than 3,542,130 times in sau search
  23. its no different to the normal powerfc so just debug as if it were a normal PFC can you post up what your sensor / sw check looks like? did you do factory reset? any of the sensor names in BLACK highlight (in sensor sw check) do any switches (in sensor sw check) turn on (black dot) if you try and crank it ?
  24. as covered in the powerfc faq, the only option the pfc boost control kit does not offer over the avc-r is the gear judge feature. the rest is the same. the duty cycle will let you control how much pressure to show the gate spring before it opens. much like most convetional boost controllers. the duty cycle decides how much to open / close. its a ratio
  25. ah that was your favourite skyline hey sam? looked like a bit of a beast. sounds like it had plently of go
