In Cab Fuel Pressure Gauges .
Beer Baron replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
http://www.defi-shop.com/product/bf/bf_top.html they have other good features too, easily adjustable warnings and they can record up to 3 mins of operation and then you can play it back to easily diagnose any problems (can be hard to watch gauges at 200+kmh! but easy to replay in the pits). see page 102 of the operating manual to understand what I mean about see the base fuel pressure (by eliminating boost/vacuum from the display). it's very handy feature. http://www.defi-shop.com/product/images/dl...anual06064e.pdf -
can't see any problem with that. might be worth leaving a few holes at low points in the floor pan though for drainage if needed and just fill them with rubber bungs in the meantime.

fatz, get a canon. very easy to use and great pics for beginners.

In Cab Fuel Pressure Gauges .
Beer Baron replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I use and would strongly recommend defi. very high quality, reliable, easy to read and super easy to install. In the grey GTR i use Fuel pressure, Oil pressure (with extra warning light), boost pressure and oil temp. the other benefit of the defi gauges is if you run their boost gauge as well you can hit a button on the controller and it will remove engine vacuum/boost from the fuel pressure guage reading, so basically you should get a constant reading regarldless of boost or vacuum, this makes it very easy to diagnose any fuel supply problems. -
sorry to hear that things were going well. still I'd rather be building a 4 cylinder MX5 donk than a straight 6 RB... hopefully it will be back together better than before. any word on what made it die?

Crashed My 33 And Insurance Wont Pay?
Beer Baron replied to jaymze_1990's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
even if that is all true, the simple fact that his car had bald, unroadworthy tyres will mean his claim is not paid anyway. at the absolute best he's looking at a refund of all or part of his premium payments, but if you reckon they will pay out his claim I think you're way too optimistic. anyway, like I said if he wants to fight it I would suggest he go and get some actual legal advice. not advice from anonymous users of a forum (me included). -
Hey lover. sorry I've been out of action. got diff news for you though finally. give me a call for good time when you feel lonely. zed looks great on a forklift too...

Crashed My 33 And Insurance Wont Pay?

even if you can somehow convince them that they agreed to insure you for a car you can't legally drive you still have the problem of the bald, unroadworthy tyres. I'd love to hear how these "experts" think you will get out of that one... you did not properly maintain your car, and the unroadworthy tyres caused your accident. if you can get them to pay that out then I might get you to represent me in any future legal matters. oh, and you still have a duty to read the PDS which clearly states that if you are driving a car you are not legally able to drive that you will NOT BE COVERED. the PDS spells out all the conditions of the policy and it's up to you to read and understand it. your insurance is conditional on that. -
lol, he was already stuck on his own as no one wanted to sit next to him as he dripped with sweaty back and armpits! though he is quite a handsome bloke. I can really see why heidi klum would let him do nasty things to her.... I wonder if he works out? this shot was probably him having a shower after a hard day of sitting still at a pit wall telemetry screen in the shade... sweaty work that.

as it says in the PDS J'z R33 posted which they would have sent with your policy: ARE YOU COVERED? If the driver of your car was not licensed or authorised to drive it. NO ARE YOU COVERED? If your car was in an unroadworthy or unsafe condition that contributed to the accident being a condition that was known to and disregarded by you. NO so they have 2 ways to deny your claim. your only real way out is to somehow demonstrate that the tyres were not bald and that the car was roadworthy (going to be hard if it's not true) and then you still have the problem of driving a car that you are not legally able to drive... edti: no worries Johno. good link to the PDS too. that should make things pretty clear to the OP. but like I said, if he still wants to fight it he's going to need some legal help and he's going to be risking even more money (in legal costs). -

nup, he has no chance of working this out with the magna owner directly now or making her offers or organising the repair at a favourable place etc. because she has now made a claim with her insurance. they pay her, and now the insurance company will want him to pay them back. so there is zero chance of bargaining etc. he will almost certainly have to pay the insurance company the $7K they are asking for. -

d'oh! as the others said you were driving the car illegally, AND if your rear tyres were bald then your car was also not roadworthy. Given that by your own admission the crash was caused by your rear end loosing traction in the wet they can quite justifiably argue that the bald tyres were the cause of the accident. really dude, having good quality tyres that are in good condition is the most basic form of maintaining a car. It's the most basic yet most important safety feature on your car. with bald tyres it wont matter how good your brakes are or how good your suspension is etc, you are still driving a death trap. unfortunately being that the other driver was not at fault and has insurance they will pay out her claim, and then they will pursue you through the courts for their money back. they will most likely refund some or all of your premium though. if you still think you have some kind of case here then my advice is to get a lawyer asap. a decent one. at the moment you are looking at $7K for her car, plus whatever repairs your car needs so you have a fair bit at stake here. definitely worth getting some proper legal advice, not just from anonymous users on the internet.... -
I'm down to 1:38 with the stock controller, tuned, TC on 6, front bar view, MT. Don't think I can get down to 1:35 though without a wheel or some kind of miracle. I should probably have spent more time on it though. Only played it for maybe an hour or 2 all up. I can only do about 5 or 6 laps before I start to get a saw thumb! too much gaming as a kid I think.
-
yep, that's my exact problem. I'm going to take it to one of these dudes who does chips etc and just pay them to "hopefully" fix it for me so I can keep the original v1.50 firmware but still emulate later firmwares so I can play later games.

or I'm lying and I really have crabs.... haven't tried westnet but I can say iinet have been very, very good. can't really fault the service or connection in any way.
-
good choice. as for the rear of the guard, I swiss cheesed mine with holes about 30mm in diameter, but have now got one of these to go in there (see below). the swiss cheese holes worked quite well though, just make sure they are nice and big,

Rb25 And 26 Squish Pad Removal And Cr
Beer Baron replied to Chris Wilson's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
it's the same with everything. especially the USA. they love to share their developments etc on the net, and people can easily learn from it. here in aus people keep stuff much closer to their chest as they don't want competitors learning all their secrets. -
dunno about that. it's kind of a technicality. McLaren is after all a licence holding team so under the rules they can be punished. this ruling effectively stated that the FIA and the WMSC did not have the right to level this kind of punishment on a 3rd party individual as it would be akin to having them blacklisted in their chosen profession. I still think it's bullshit though. He should have been banned. The penalty fitted the crime.
-
yeah agreed. I would love to see Mark get a WDC this year. Hey, he was not that far out last season and it was a pretty tough season. GO MARK! I also agree with the paul quote. mark is definitely a man who made things happen for himself almost purely through drive and determination. he was not necessarily the most talented bloke out there, but he certainly trained and practised the hardest.

yes, iinet do bundle home phone and ADSL2+ packages. I have their ph service and adsl2+ and never had a single problem with either in nearly 2 years now. speed is awesome, the only count download traffic towards your quota (some count up and down) and no shaping or other bullshit. sure some shitpot companies are cheaper but you get 'quality' internet and service. it's like a hooker. you can get one on the street that gives you have an hour of intersex for $50 and one in a high class brothel offers half an hour for $200. both are giving you half an hour of intersex. both look and talk like a girl, but one has crabs and used to be a man, one has no lice or stds and was born a woman. I know which one I think is better value.... it's the same with internet.

lol, not quite. i just got sick of doing nothing so put it all back together as it was, put interior back in etc, gave it a wash and miraculously managed to get it going again. new engine is going in very shortly though I have to say though seeing how nice it runs now I'm almost tempted just to fix it as it is now, bolt on the new turbos and flog the rest of the stuff and enjoy it as it is.
-
yeah that makes sense. and you are right it's definitely easier to diagnose and fix without having installed the thing in the car. hey I have seen it happen to a brand new crate motor that was very nicely built. turns out there was a hairline crack inside the head somewhere that would only open up when hot. they had to remove engine from the car and pressure test but didn't catch it until they hot tanked it and pressure tested it hot. lots of head scratching on that one.
