  1. Ok I was looking at the last photo, the first three show its a tooth out. The last photo shows heaps out. Can be hard to line up if you don't pay attention. You have to get down at eye level, if you look from a normal standing level you can set it up a tooth our so out.
  2. Latest email from the supplier: Hi Danny The best way to go about is for you to take the payments, and just do one transfer to us once it's ready to go. Then you give us a list with the breakdown of pickup/postage, and a secret code for the guys that are picking them up - so we know they're who they say. We do need payment in full for something like this at the time of the order, though. As for postage, that's something we can't really calculate until they've arrived to us via container into Melbourne. Hard to say how they're being wrapped/supplied from Nissan at this stage, and if they'll require further wrapping once they arrive here. Regards, Daniel How do other group buys work??? Do people take funds??? Feel like I'm being backed into a corner - I have asked the supplier if there is another way? I can open up a bank account and take funds and pay for all, thats no problem>>>>but: people have to take a leap of faith and trust and as soon as money is involved it gets serious I might wait for the supplier to get back to me first and see......but [another but] I have a feeling I know what they are going to say. If they insist on the same method - and for them it makes good business sense to do so - then I will send every person a PM with details.
  3. Wasn't thinking along those line Ty1, was hoping to get the supplier to do this. But If I have to I will. I'm actually trying to avoid handling deposits and funds etc if I can - will do it if I'm backed into a corner, but not really looking forward to it. So wait and see first.

  11. OK, looks like the supplier has finally sorted the VSpec II mats: Sorry for the wait on this mate, looks like this is the part your after. 65840-AA410 http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/570379/car/489923/4234550/parts.aspx You can see a picture of it here. Regards, Rob Can one of you guys [kila32 or SCRMER] have a look and let me know for sure. I'll PM both of you as well.........to be sure to be sure!!!
  12. Only thing I can say is..........glad its not me!!!
  13. Umm, don't be too hard on them. They are pretty used to Skyline owners doing some of the easy done stuff and saving a few dollars. If it was me I'd probably be the other way and start hating if they did change the CAS or fuel pump cos they would charge you heaps plus add progit margins to the items as well as the labour. I'd feel like I was paying 'good money for old rope' as they say. The time they spend on the dyno is still time, so if they tune then decide the tune is crappy and then replace items - they will retune and still charge for the dyno time again, so in the end you'd lkely not save that much by doing it all at once plus they may use parts you don't want them to use. As well as this they really have no idea - until you build a relationship up as breaker says - what your plans are for the car and how far your willing to go/how much you can afford to spend???
  14. Yeah, thats just me.....a day late and a dollar short
  15. I.d use three steps to tighten....less chance of distortion or loading up one or two studs - plus even pressure. Also [and I'll prob get shot down for saying this] dont frett if you cant torque down completely. Get a feel for the torque on the ones you can access and just use that feel and the click in your elbow to do those that are hard to access. Torque settings are less critical on something like the exhaust manifold.
  16. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BossSafe-Nero-Electronic-Welding-Helmet/321745210916?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107090050%26meid%3D9ca28ba267f3480986f6af507e6da76a%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D7%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D321678089058 Great fitting helmet, auto darkening, wide view, ticked all the boxes for me. But you need to go in and test helmets for fit, there are cheaper [and much dearer] ones out there that may suit you. I went to several stores and tried them on for fit and balance and this one was a little bit dearer [still sub $200] but fitted and felt superior in every way. Also has grinding mode 5 to 9 and tint from 9 to 13. Lastly 4 sensors so if your welding around corners and structures the auto sensors don't get covered. Plus its solar. But I purchased mine from Gasweld, not ebay. Price was not that different from memory - I think the price on ebay for this one is probably a bit exe and you will find it cheaper elsewhere.
  17. 100 years and they still can't eliminate belt issues no crank handle now though. But molasses hasn't changed a bit, horses love it.
  18. Latest email: Hi Mate, As per attached, just that small bit? Retail for about 12,000yen. Checking stocks now. Its for the R34 VSpec II mats. They are still saying that there are two part numbers for it even though I used SCMER's VIN number and sent them the lower part of the screenshot of Nissan Fast to them with the part number. I get part number 65820, they are saying 65840??? and then two sub part numbers. We will get to the bottom of this, I will keep chasing them about it. I'll wait to next Monday [cos I'm away till then anyway] but I don't think we should delay the purchase process any further. I'll contact the supplier and see what we need to do for the next step = paying up/deposit.
  19. No idea, and until we get them I really couldn't say sorry. Take your old one in to the post office and see maybe?
  20. In the old days they used to use molasses...........just saying. But motors revved at 1800 rpm then as well.
  21. True, but I couldn't find a guru who could give inner peace. It worked and I'm not complaining. For $1500 I fixed [or masked] the knock and gained 15-20 kw. Apologies to OP.
  22. What power you making? Anyway I have a GT3076 and std motor [well Tomei sticks] and it was pinging pretty bad......took it to a few different tuners but none seemed to have the answer so I went with WMI and fixed it. Bit frustrating because others on here were using the same set up and it was working fine with no rattle. On the bright side I took another step up in power. Not saying that you will have to do it, but each car/motor is just that little bit different.
  23. Well I finally found a copy of Nissan Fast I was allowed to use and SCRMER kindly volunteered his VIN number. From this I reckon that the part number we need for the doullie mats is 65820. I have emailed this info to the supplier and hopefully they will be able to it and get a proce. Once we have this I'll move to phase 3 [if there is one...and don't ask how many phases there are, I'm learning as I go] which is ordering and organising deposits/payments. I think the last step will be paying for postage and mailing out, but as per usual I'll keep everyone informed.
  24. Only if you bling bling. mine is high temp flat black and not really noticeable. Anyway how do you think a welded on one is going to look............not a lot different I'd say. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/gallery/image/89130-20081210-close-up-of-skyline-engine-bay-5/ http://www.sau.com.au/forums/gallery/image/89131-20081210-close-up-of-skyline-engine-bay-2/
  25. Latest: Hi Danny Nissan don't list a diagram/shape for the different V-Spec II covers, so we can't confirm which one is which unfortunately. Can they see if there's a part number on their existing one - if they have one? Regards, So can the two guys who want the VSpec II mats please use Nissan Fast and their Vin number to check the part number??? There is a service on SAU here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/128496-vins-you-want-fasted/page-225 Otherwise there are members who have access.
