Wanting To Install Aftermarket Gauges
tridentt150v replied to Peanut92's topic in General Maintenance
I'd use an oil temp gauge for engine temp, unless you're running with an oil cooler and even then its still better. Keep the water temp so you know your car is getting good cooled down coolant. IMO. -
And I bet the changeover cost was not a lot. Its just the spannerwork and downtime - plus we all have thet built in thing that says....'if it ain't broke don't fix it'. I think [like Touge says] you'll quickly explore the limits of the AVCR and will need to invest in a good qual EC. But 300kw is a nice neat number IMO, response across the board.

Jeez I've used carb clean and brake clean on parts.......can't for the life of me remember if I ever welded them, I don't feel as bad as that bloke so probably not - but I honestly have no idea. And we've all used degreaser, petrol, kero, the heavy duty degreaser that smells and looks like phenol, and host of other stuff.

yep, still waiting on a price from Import Monster.......... Still heaps of time for others to jump in if they want one, early days yet!!!!

Hang in there Hadouken, I'm just waiting on price landed in Australia.........I've contacted the business and am waiting on a price. Once I get this I will move from an EOI to an actual group buy with firm committments and deposits etc. tridentt150v - GTst S2, I might get two anyway, put one away for ron?? hadouken - GTR R33 89CAL - Gtst S2 Get another one so x 2 Robzilla - GTR - R32 Ty1 - Gtst S1 kingtube69 - Gtst S2 kila32 - GTR R34 R33 gtrv-spec - GTR R33 When I do order I have asked for shipping and not air frieght to reduce the cost......it will mean a delay in supply but given that the mat doesn't stop you driving your car I think we can all live with that. I also need to talk to the business about how we go about it - it could be that they will be happy for me to collect the numbers etc and they assume control of the business side - which would be fine as well, I'm def not in it for $$$ only to pay for and get my mat and [corny I know] help others do the same.

Replacing alternators is pretty much plug and play. You remove the old one, install the new one and plug in the wires. If the plug pack doesn't fit then you may need a plug supplied with the new alternator or cut the wires and crimp on spade terminals. Just take note of how it comes apart and do the same when putting it back together. Or take it to an auto electrician.

How To Make An Rb20det Dose ?
tridentt150v replied to adam wicks's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I once got a dose...........antibiotics fixed it!!!! If u want dose, lay with town bikes and scraggs. -
Did u set the plug gap to 0.8???, at 14 psi the spark would be struggling at bigger gaps. But prob not so much at 10psi. Also wondering if your BOV is partially stuck open?

Wanting To Install Aftermarket Gauges
tridentt150v replied to Peanut92's topic in General Maintenance
The after market gauge I once had, had a metal in line adaptor that was fitted to the top radiator hose. Who ever fitted it cut the top radiator hose and then fitted the adaptor [think it was alloy] and used hose clamps either side. The temp sensor was screwed into the sidewall of the adaptor. Gauges were Blitz I think??? I don't run with water temp any more, just oil and exhaust temp and oil pressure. The standard water temp on the dash works fine for me. -
Hi all I have contacted Import Monster and should have a firm price per mat soonish. This pirce will not include postage to your door.......that will be another cost and challenge. If anyone has a parts manual and could confirm the part numbers as well as if the S1 and S2 Gtst mats are the same [same part number] that would be appreciated. Or alternatively if its avaiable publicly etc then point me in the right direction and I'll do it myself.
-
Yeah, Ty1 I'm also hoping the price is around that mark. But there will be freight on top of that plus postage to you. I have contacted Import Monster and talked to Aaron and once I have a price I will get back to everyone with it. So fingers crossed it all goes OK.
-
Ok I will talk to Import Monster and see if they can help. And yeah I said at the start that ppl can pull out if the price is too much for them. Just looking to gauge the interest atm. I should have put an EOI in front of the topic but by the time I thought of it [my grey cells aren't noted for their speed] it was too late. But I'll keep working at it. StretchGSK I'll ask but its a strange beast compared to what we will be getting so no promises ok. That photo will come in handy. Price this week [i'm away for work and in the bush so might be later this week but it will be done]. Thanks all. tridentt150v - GTst S2, I might get two anyway, put one away for ron?? hadouken - GTR R33 89CAL - Gtst S2 Get another one so x 2 Robzilla - GTR - R32 Ty1 - Gtst S1 kingtube69 - Gtst S2 kila32 - GTR R34 You are right to some extent on freight, but I also think that because its a large flat package and doesn't 'conform' to a box world there is a size penalty. But the mats also don't weigh that much and having 10 stacked on top of each other would increase the price but not by 10 times. But I guess we will suck and see that as we dive deeper. And thanks for not killing it Nismoid

Usually when alternator makes that sound its the bearings in it.........needs a rebuild. Get it checked but if it needs rebuilding best do it before armature is damaged.

Hi all, I've started a newbie group buy. Its more an expression of interest at the moment but will happen if we get the numbers!!! So if you want one then please put your name on the list. I'll leave it open for say 4 weeks tthen if we get enough numbers I'll go to the next step. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/458455-under-bonnet-mats/
-
yeah, I was thinking amayama, but they quoted me almost $800 for freight on one mat. But if we get a bulk order this may come down [fingers crossed]. If we had 10 and it was $800 then its $80 /mat which is looking ok IMO. StretchGSK - not sure if your joking or not, but a carbon bonnet, not sure it would have one TBH. tridentt150v - GTst S2, I might get two anyway, put one away for ron?? hadouken - GTR R33 89CAL - Gtst S2 Robzilla - GTR - R32 Ty1 - Gtst S2? kingtube69 - Gtst S2 kila32 - GTR R34

OK I've read the forum rules and if I don't make it then let me know and remove the thread. I am gauging the interest in a Group Buy on under bonnet mats. I know I need one and was talking to another member and he also needed one and a few others sounded interested. So what i want to know is the level of interest - if we can get 10 or more then it may be worth our while to go the next step. Note that I did get a quote for EOM and it was $126USD for the mat but postage/greight was prohibitive. But I think if we had enough interest and got say 10 or more the freight might come down. So: 1. Gauge interest and if there is enough then 2. Look for a supplier and get a quote 3. Tell everyone the cost and allow them time to back out if it is too much 4. Take deposits 5. Order 6. Post out to everyone. Note I don't have a supplier in mind and am willing to take advice. Also will need help and advice on operating this service. I'm just along time silent majority member who's trying to do the right thing so don't shoot!!!! So lets start just reply by adding your user name: trident150v

Well thats two...I have to find a supplier first I guess. Someone that will do a proper price. If anyone has a contact it would be appreciated.

Thanks nanogrip, I was looking at that sort of product but baulked at it becuase it would be a real bitch to get off if you ever had to replace it or repair a dent etc. [[which I just had to recently do when two acorn nut looking things fell out of a tree and put a couple of small dents in my bonnet - paintless dent removal and $50 later fixed it though, BUT they had to remove my mat to access them from underneath. Maybe I should think about organising a group buy???
-
Oh I should have looked a bit harder the regulator is there next to the battery. Being a good one plus the set up being installed by ppl that know what they are doing I'd say your fine. But its for a fridge or some such for sure, you could put a good quality inverter on that and use power tools as well - either directly or to charge 18v batteries via the 240v charger. We do that with some of our work vehicles. Anyway having that sort of system is a definiate bonus, you could go 4wding and trekking across the centre with that set up.

Now see I have never removed my inlet pipe to do the plugs.......its - like kinks said - doable without too much trouble. A socket that fits is wwwwwwaaaaayyyyy cheaper [say $100 max] than a ffp and all that hot gear your looking at. And now that I've reduced your mod costs by $1000+ you can now afford that flash new turbo. And as everyone says 300rwkw is more than achievable with the std plenum, there are people on here with a fair bit more than that and still running with the OEM.
