  1. lol stealing 20 sec!
  2. springs can control roll, but they will affect weight transfer under braking and acceleration as well as cornering. And hard springs/firm shocks will limit traction. generally, the best way to set the car up is springs and shocks as soft as practicable, and sway bars to control the roll.
  3. strange. i am running tomei cam gears on standard cams without any issues

    Car Ramps

yep that would have been a bastard!
  5. I'll be along...but I'm bringing the 32 race car not the stagea
  6. I'm coming along to texi and the cruise
  7. because the 32 gtr only has a cat temp light, not a cat temp and engine check light it is PFC showing you an error, looks like youv'e found it already. if you can't easily get your hands on another afm to try, swap the 2 around and see if the error now apears as AF2
  8. no shit, the best dodgy fix is to weld the centre up. could well last a while and it will do the trick perfectly. should cost about $20. you will throw the centre away when you get a mech one anyway..... so weld away
  9. approx price from nissan chuckie? i need lhs
  10. schedule H is the fire extinguisher rules http://www.camsmanual.com.au/pdf/10_gen_re...dule_H_Q310.pdf 1.1 Hand-held fire extinguishers: (i) must remain restrained under an acceleration of 25G; (ii) must be capable of removal by the driver (or crew, where applicable) without the aid of tools. (iii) must be inspected by scrutineers at least once every six months, or otherwise prior to competition. This involves visually checking the unit and its mountings for damage, checking the pressure of the contents, and shaking the container to check for settling of the extinguishant. Where practical the extinguisher should be weighed. simply, the scruitineer is saying that they don't beleive a self tapper will meet requirement (i). is there some reason you can't drill right through where you have the self tappers and use a bolt with large washers to hold it instead?
  11. hahah there you go....just where the speed limiter is in real life. btw I've never understood why there is a hoseclamp in those pics kristian!?!
  12. what a grump thready. fwiw i used to run my 33 gtst at 5000rpm in 5th for 30min on the way to and from work each day for almost a year. I hope someone can work out how fast i was going. also, out of interest, if a 33 gtr leaves the mine at 6000rpm for 10-12 minutes in 5th and a 33 gtst leaves town in the opposite direction at 5000rpm for 30 minutes, where will they cross paths? or when will the floor blow out?
  13. OMG I get world famous navigator Kelly Handley in the silly seat? (I wonder if she will change her mind when she finds out how my accomodation budget compares to tony's one?)
  14. the uncommon license is half the price, but people have to pay double the price for the entry level license? I'm having trouble seeing what the improvement is?
  15. I have some super cool spanners from medalist. the are shaped like an S and have a ring on either end. perfect for getting at the under plenum bolts from above.
  16. I've got 2 to add..... did you know Kerry Packer ordered 2 GTRs in wine red, and had them both modified by Fred Gibson before taking delivery (I hate to think what that cost). also.... Nissan Australia sold just over 100 cars....but imported 200. The rest were sent back to japan in 1994 because they could not be sold here at any price. No wonder it took until 2009 for Nissan to sell another GTR
  17. Type of Car: 32 gtr Modifications: nothing worth mentioning (n1 spec) Power: ~250kw What you broke: chain in the transfer case How you broke it: well...never got it checked properly. it had just been rebuilt so i guess a mistake was made. Interestingly it ended up stuck in 3rd because the chain whipping around in the xfer cas bent the support around the shifter linkage and would not allow me to change gears. I thought it was a busted garbox for that reason bet no-one else has managed that lol
  18. sorry not sure...there are differences including the number of splines at the diff centre. but I'm sure someone who knows the mix and match better than I can come up with some options maybe just gtr centre and half shafts with the gtst diff case and hubs?
  19. not an issue in my experience...i have a 44 internal with no check valve. just takes 2 seconds to start instead of .5s
  20. yep....it just keeps pressure in the fuel line when the car is off. just need to crank for a second or 2 longer without it. on the other hand....why not use it?
  21. Hi Kevin, I've never seen the figures for 33, but I can tell you my r32 gtr production race car is front 58% rear 42%. This is with 100kg driver. the 34 gtt will be a little better without the 4wd, but I am sure it is only 1-2% better. Skylines are a well engineered but therefore heavy car, with big gearbox and heavy cast iron block.
  22. any update? the factory oil/water heat exchanger is a common cause
  23. yeah deano is on the right track...try the easy thing first. front tyres to rear and see if it still happens. btw attessa takes input from the abs sensors not the speedo. hicas on the other hand takes speedo input (common cause of failure for hicas)
  24. I had a similar problem in my stagea where it would not move from fresh air mode, and every time I started the car the ac would go into some sort of limp mode with just the fan on. turned out to be the fresh button was sticking and not freely returning, which in turn was confusing the control unit in some way. control unit replaced (careful there are different control units, check the part number printed on it)
