  1. Sorry to not go back through 95 pages to find the photo... Did they go from single to the dual pods or the other way around? I'm presuming the single is the new setup? Much neater in my opinion if it is. Less clutter = good times!
  2. For the $$ a Hypertune costs I'd be wanting it to be a straight bolt on affair and some sort of sexual favours to boot! Take a look at the Hi Octane trigger setup, I just got one and looks good. Crank pickup works off a small trigger disc that mounts to the back of the timing belt gear. it's quite neat-
  3. Is the Hypertune intake plenum right??? It seems to poke waaaaaay too far away from the engine. The angles from the cooler look like they're going to be all out of whack. Otherwise looks awesome! What trigger setup are you using?
  4. Talk to Robbie at RIPS, they run some sort of manualised system in their drag cars. You can sort of see it in this vid-
  5. Price dropped to $1500 plus post.
  6. Surprisingly good Kyle. I was pretty stressed out that it was going to be bad but wasn't in the end. The rust treatment agent reduced it 50% and then I just finished it off with a softish (blue disc if you know your die grinder pads!) grinding disk. In an ideal world I wouldn't touch a freshly (well 18 months ago it was fresh!) machined deck but there was no option. I removed the oil gallery plugs and washed the whole engine out again so I can start all over again.....
  7. Yeah it's pretty impressive driving! Hopefully there will actually be something for you to look at in six months!
  8. All work was performed by Frank at Headspec in Clayton. Bolt it on and away you go! Photos of the head-
  9. Good job! What car is it going into? Are you doing the work yourself or using a workshop? Good luck with it all.
  10. Yes, pm replied to. Wasn't going to sell but would consider swap for big brakes, plazmaman or Nismo intake manifold or just sell @$1700 plus post.
  11. I've got one mate. PM me your address and I'll express post it Monday.
  12. Ha ha, yeah I'm not going to say the current fleet are perfect until they prove themselves but compared to the 80's, 90's and up till 2013ish models, they are a huge leap forward in terms of styling, build quality and handling. Our DP got to attend the AMG GT and C63S launch at Bathurst 2 weeks ago. He's not a car nut but he was amazed. Flogging AMGs at 270km/hr down Conrod straight is enough to convert any non car lover!
  13. This is where you're a bit wrong. It should read 'they weren't as good as they used to be but they've rediscovered themselves and are now awesome again. Your old man has an old model car. C230's were a fair while ago. I'm massively biased (I'm sales manager for an MB dealership) but the current product is incredible. We've got the new model C63S sitting on the showroom at the moment and it's a work of art! The twin turbos sit in the Vee of the engine and looks amazing. Everyone needs to do themselves a favour and go into a dealership just to hear one start up and rev. They have a bi-modal button that when you press turns a great sound into a sound you would happily donate your left testicle for. Seriously!
  14. "It's not to shame him" ok, is that why you posted your reply here as opposed to emailling back your reposnse? Let me save you the trouble, here was my response- Wow, that would take a HUGE hit to cause that much damage. I would be amazed that that happened inside the box to be honest as the box would be destroyed from that sort of impact. Did they send you a picture of the box to see what sort of damage it had? The balancer was packed tight into the box with the bubble wrap packed tight against the lid holding it down. You’ve seen the photos of the balancer I posted when I sold it which were taken a few days before I posted the balancer up for sale. There were zero marks on the balancer then which you can see in the photos. I’m sorry if you feel it’s my fault mate but I can’t accept responsibility for something that happened in transit. The good news is however is that the plate that is damaged is easily replaced. The backing plate is what is removed when the trigger wheel is fitted to the back of the balancer. I’ve spoken to Ross Balancers head office and they have them in stock. Tell Spool to request one (timing wheel) and they will send it with their next order. I’m sure with how much they’re making from you they can absorb the cost. I would have little doubt Ross would give it to them if they were a good enough customer. Hopefully that is crises averted! Mate I haven’t ripped you off and I haven’t tried to mislead you so hopefully Spool are going to help out to make it all perfect. Let me know how you go. Ewan. Spool will most likely have one of these lying around the workshop from a Ross balancer that they've fit a trigger wheel to, if they don't, Ross do. In future, there is right and a wrong way of going about reaching a resolution. You have done it in the entirely wrong fashion. Because of that I'm sorry to say that I will not help you any further than what I have already done. If you had emailled me back (not posted here) and tried to work through it as an adult as opposed to trying to make me out to be a shit bloke that I am not, then I'm sorry but you're on your own.
  15. Check your emails before you try and public shame me...
  16. Ok, if my last month worth of purchases don't motivate me I'm in big trouble!! So the tax fairy arrived and delivered some nice stuff... Dual Wideband kit with display A huge thanks go out to Brad Sherrif of Boost Automotive in Tassie for the Haltech goodies, absolute top bloke to deal with and a huge wealth of knowledge of all things Skyline. This is his awesome R32 GT-R in action- Balls of steel! it's running a paddle shifted Hollinger which is pretty nuts! I've also booked in to attend the Haltech Elite ECU training course which I'm pumped to do, it should be awesome! The last few weeks I've been building shed MKII which is the garden shed to get my lawn tractor and mowers and other shit out of my man cave/car shed. It's coming along nicely- On the engine rebuild front I've decided to go back to an internal oil pickup as opposed to how the Tomei oil pump I bought was setup so I'm getting the pump welded up and redrilled to suit. Things are finally starting to come together slowly... Once the warmer months arrive hopefully I'll put in some decent nights out in the shed getting shit done. I've stripped the engine back down again and then rust treated my rusty block with a rust converter. Then using a softish die grinder pad taken the remaining surface rust off the face. It's come up nice so I'm not as scared as I was now that it's all sorted. It was stressing me out! I've still got a never ending list of jobs to do at home but hopefully the next 6 months will see me back on the road. There you I said it! I need to commit to it now. Only time will tell if I'm full of shit! Wish me luck!
  17. Do a search of the forum, I can't remember exactly but there were issues about them not being fitted correctly and killing engines from spun bearings due to oil starvation. I think it was caused by the wrong oil filter thread into the block. If it's going into an RB26 I think you might need to change to a different threaded stud to mount the rellocation to as the RB26 has the oil cooler/warmer as standard. Someone please clarify this though as I can't entirely recollect what it was caused by. It's not a stupid question. Something as important as your oil supply to your engine is worth asking a few questions!
  18. I tend to agree, they made out it was going to be a 'like for like' similar flow turbo upgrade then nek minit, boom, bigger, higher flowing turbo. I'd love to see what twin small gtxs or Borg Warner turbos could do
  19. A load of $hit IMO. It took them 12 months to write the code to be able to do it but I would bet my left nut that they had to make some modifications to the vehicle to make all of that stuff happen. I don't believe most of the stuff they were controlling in the car would be possible without making modifications. The full story will come out once people are sick of talking about it and the story needs reinvigorating. However, it is very interesting to see the potential dangers of having fully 'connected' cars, houses, etc.
  20. Done, PM me your bank details.
  21. PM'd. I'll take it subject to you being happy to post it.
  22. Geez they're good looking stoppers. Have you tested them out at full noise yet? Fade should be a thing of the past.
  23. Even for a potato that's very poor resolution.... Ahh the good old days.
