Well 1st of all lets face it. GT is made for eye candy. It's supposed to look as real as possible. Dwells on performance, but I would say the main attraction to the game is the visual aesthetics. The look of the scenery and everything as you drive by. I am not a sony fanboy, but I was blown away the first time I played GT3-4. The visuals are was what immersed you and made the last games great.

Bottom line - GT is not the PS3, lets get back on track here :) no pun intended...

Whats so immersive about people standing still when a 1.5 tonne car is flying towards them?

Feeling like your in the game world is more complex than just pretty textures, it's the way your surroundings act when you do something. Like hitting a tree, bashing the front of your car off, and unfortunately GT has never offered any of those things.

90% of the games will be port

they will be written for 2 or 3 platforms , very few games bar specific console franchises are platform specific

im still going to get one but dont fool yourself into thinking it something super special , it will not be . its not that much better than the 360 . its slightly better , maybe 10-20% but thats it . you will not see radically different content for the ps3 compared to 360 versions of the same game . especially if the ps3 does not take a dominant market position like it did last time round

and blu ray doesnt interest me at all . i can dl hd movies for free and watch them from the media center and by the time blu ray takes off enough to be convienience format like dvd (ie everywhere , just put it in and watch) a player will be like 100$ and burner $200

ive maybe watched a dozen dvds on my ps2 and i got it at launch , its not realy a big factor in selling consoles this time round

this was one of the stupidest things ive seen

its like those pathetic sims games

its a bad seinfeld episode , game about NOTHING!

Home isnt a "game", its a network system much like xbox live but built with-in a "virtual world" to make it more interesting i guess.

Looks pretty decent to me, especially seeing as its free.

No it's just a place sony can cram advertisment down your throat.

It does look pretty cool though. I wonder how many people will be able to be in each hub though?

seriously dude, it seems you really dont like ps3 so how about you stop posting in the topic which is about the ps3. its all well and good to now like a console , that is your right. but what is the point of saying stuff which you have no idea about...

Home will have advertisement, But that is to help to keen it free unlike xbox live. Sony has already stated what it's plan for advertisements is, and its seems far from what you have said? im sorry but if you have insider source about sony and the ps3 please share all your information....

im sick of people bagging out a console system because they dont like it or are just a fanboy of another system. i think ps3 is very good that is my opinion i personal dont like the xbox but you dont see me making up bullshit ?

ohh and blue-ray is awsome, just got my free James Bond blue-ray dvd from sony ;) too bad i dont have a HDtv ;)

I got mine too :) It looks awesome in 1080p! I've got Gone in 60 Seconds on BluRay too which looks pretty good, not as sharp as Casino Royale though I think.

save up for a 1080p screen! so worth it!!

Every thing i've stated has been a fact.

I do like the ps3 it will be a great console, but the people rambling on about how fantastic "IT IS" when it's not "IT WILL" be fantastic in the future but not for a while yet.

lol, your comment about home is far from fact! I think all you have said its opinion not FACT!

90% Ports?

state your sources...

90% of all games for the last 15 years of video game history have been ported by from 1 system to another

how many dedicated ps2 games are their in comparison to the total library for the console ?

why do you think the ps3 will be any different ?

how long did it take you guys to get Casino Royale?

Did anyone with a non-aus delivered system get one when they signed on as Aussie resident?

Does Blu-ray have zone restrictions or PAL/NTSC?? Will the aussie Bond disc play on a Jap PS3?

orly? well feel free to state the 90% of ports between the PS1, N64 and dreamcast.

I'll wait here.

Chances are you cant.

^^^

well almost every launch title has been a port of a 360 title. And that trend looks set to continue at least for the remainder of this year.

you fail to state the amount of ported titles there were for 360 launch. keep in mind most games made by EA etc arent exclusives ported to ps3, there port games in general, made at a safe GFX level etc, to suit every console.

PS3 console has better everything than 360 console except price. end story. less hassles aswell... 360's have had more f**kups after release than any other system release in history.

P.S. if you wanna battle exclusives...

Perfect Dark Zero vs Resistance: Fall of Man...?

Ill take resistance thanks...

Call of Duty 2 vs Resistance: Fall of Man...?

Ill take resistance thanks...

Oh and werent Need for Speed Most Wanted, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Madden NFL 06, NBA 2K6, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06, FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, NHL 2K6 and NBA Live 06 all on previous consoles? which would mean they arent even new generation ports at launch... just another way for microsoft to make money... rushed production line, rushed launch titles leads to extremely poor release. but i guess the people had to buy something while waiting for ps3...

theyre only ahead cause they released 1 year before the ps3. whyd they do that anyway? i mean the 360 had heaps of bugs at release and games werent anything special... maybe they just knew the innevitable would happen if sony would release there puppy closer to the release of the little box of terrors?

ofcourse this is all speculation, who knows what couldve/will happen, i just hate fanboys, especially xbox fanboys, always jumping the gun and first to attack views different to 360 is god.

    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
    • No those pads are DBA too  but they have colors too. I look at the and imo the green "street" are the best.
    • I’m not sure what happened I told them about sonic tunes free OTS tune and the next the I know .. I was booted..   To funny
    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
